Woosha seems to be pushing team defence so assuming he see's Hocking as best 22 that'll free him up massively. Was very effective against Collingwood in Round 23 last year.We aren't gonna draft a tagger

If we go Brodie with pick 1, I hope we get an outside mid like Simpkin with 19.
If we go McCluggage with pick 1, then I hope we go inside mid such as Drew or Scharenberg with 19.
Battle or Kerr with the Hibberd pick (25?) if we are lucky.
Another inside mid with 37
Project tall with 58
Tippa upgrade with 76.
I have no idea why the pre season draft is still going. If an out of contract player doesn't get traded, they should have to enter the national draft.
If the afl has a problem with players walking through the pre season draft get rid of it.
Reckon we'll be trading actively so wouldn't be surprised if Woosha told Dodoro to go after a KPF in the trade period. Which would limit the picks, I also don't think he'd want a "project tall" as we've found out repeatedly they rarely work out (Steinberg is a case in point). Would probably package up #26 and #37 to the Giants for #15. Then do the following in the draft:If we go Brodie with pick 1, I hope we get an outside mid like Simpkin with 19.

Or how about no? We'll be keeping Pick 1, what you're suggesting absolutely shafts us. I sincerely doubt we'll be trading for O'Meara. How about we trade pick 1 and Hibberd return and a future 2nd round pick for o'meara and gold coasts 1st

O'Meara is not worth giving up Pick 1 for. Sorry but it's a really bad idea. It is a terrible deal for us, and most certainly not fair. What you're basically suggesting is giving up Pick 1 and another top 10 selection (which is what Hibberd + the future 2nd equates to), for a bloke who may never get back (which Gold Coast themselves have stated is a very real possibility) and missing out on the best kid in the draft. Why not ? This a fair deal we give up probably 2 seconds and move down 3 spots in the draft where we will still have a chance at an elite mid

Some people just don't think. All I can say is I'm thankful he's not our list manager. You realise Omeara hasnt played for 2 years right?
Anyone have Aaron Fiora's pre-draft bio? Just interested to see how he stacks up vs some of the players spoken about as possible top 5 picks this year. Fiora was a major bust so need to make sure we don't take a Fiora type with pick 1.

Yup and it's not just that, for the first time in the history of the AFL/VFL draft Essendon has first choice and a shot at the best kid in the country! And to even think about throwing that away for such a frankly sh*tty deal is madness!Especially with dodos 2nd round pick strike rate.
sweet jesus don't let this be trueI'm not sure of the source but people on the Eagles board have mentioned that you guys have put an offer to Ballantyne. They're saying 3 years, which feels unlikely. Anyway, just passing it along.
All hail Woosha!
Yep, Daniher comes out of contract next year along with Fantasia (SA clubs will probably throw buckets of money at him), Parish and Zaha.My concern about omeara is the the money/cap... We have Heppell, Hurley and Hooker on 700-800k each. We need to keep money for the young guns coming up...
True though to be fair Heppell, Hurley and Hooker would've all been on similar money before they recommitted anyway. O'Meara's contract would also have a sh*tload of KPI's involved in it, games played, output, etc. his base salary probably wouldn't be more than 500k.My concern about omeara is the the money/cap... Mark Steven's is the one pushing that story in the media. And he gets everything wrong, for example the day before it was announced O'Meara would be leaving, he tried to say it was increasingly likely he'd be staying. So I don't believe any of this Ballantyne talk, we've absolutely no need for him with plenty of more talented smalls on the list.I'm not sure of the source but people on the Eagles board have mentioned that you guys have put an offer to Ballantyne. I'm sorry but no, just no. No-one in their right mind would do that deal for O'Meara. Don't get me wrong I'd like to bring him to the club, but given his probable salary demands and the massive injury risk associated with him I wouldn't be prepared to give up anything for him, especially when the deal compromises us as much as what you're suggesting.
If we had to trade, I'd offer Pick 19 and no more.
