Sydney are very well known for trading in talent, did you think before including them in that line?
Was kinda hard since there has not been many different premiership teams recently

They've said they are not interested in trading for Pick 1...

If (and its a big if) we send Pick 1 anywhere it'll be to GWS in return for someone like Patton and another top 10 pick.
Yes I know GC dont want to trade for pick 1 but that doesnt stop us from trading with other clubs involving pick 1. It could be involved in the Jaegar trade for all we know. All Im saying is that you shouldnt be saying that theres no chance we wont trade pick 1 when Woosha has openly stated that its up for trade

They've also built through the draft at the same time though. He's right about North, Richmond and Port all having tried to do it by bringing in external talent. North and Port both have seemed to realise now that, that was a mistake. Richmond though....well lets say I don't think Dimma will be the coach the next time they win a flag.

Doubtful as far as the O'Meara thing is concerned, Dodoro isn't that stupid. I'm not saying we won't trade it I'm just saying that if we do it won't be with Gold Coast. Thought I'd made that clear, but obviously not.

His kicking constantly lets him down, not what we need.
His kicking isn't much worse than a lot of players we have had especially this year. His kicking is ok not elite but not horrific

What does Stevens add to our midfield? We get Myers back and Bird/Howlett will be depth.
I think the Stevens link is based on the possibility and assumption that Jobe may not return.

Agree to disagree.

Was a poor kick as a junior and still thinks he can kick 60m spearing passes off one step. Very slow learner.

No thanks.

He is capable of some good things I think he adds more than Bird or Howlett could to our line up. Hey I wouldn't want to give up much for him but still would consider him handy depth.

I didn't say he was wrong about nth, richmond or port. Only Sydney, they are the odd one out.

He might be a slight upgrade on Howlett and Bird, but that's not worth giving up a top 40 pick for.

Agree I wouldn't ask for more than that

Hird was already elite before he injured his foot - He'd already won a Brownlow medal.

Sorry - but, in the context of my post and the one that I was replying to, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

The person I was responding to was asking for example(s) of anyone who'd played top-line football AFTER multiple years of crippling injuries. Nothing to do with how good or bad they were beforehand.

(And, even if that was part of the question and answer anyway, are you seriously claiming that JOM wasn't considered an elite talent before his injuries?! Good luck with that argument.)

Nah - An elite player is in the top 10 to 15 players in the competition - JOM was nowhere near elite at the end of 2014 - JOM was tracking towards being an elite player in the following 3 to 5 years until he was curtailed by injury.

Sigh.

Again ... this has precisely nothing to do with my earlier post and conversation.

No - elite players are per position - I doubt any ruckmen would be in the top 10 players of the comp - that doesn't mean there aren't elite rucks.

By that standard O'Meara still wouldn't have been considered an elite midfielder though. Has elite talent/potential certainly, but he's not fulfilled that yet.
