You mean and the specialist teams coming on and off every 4 plays...it's very stop start. I like it as it allows me to multi task though watching NFL.

So WTF does that have to do with the review system then

That just there is the biggest strawman I've ever seen on BF.

What I want is for the umpires to provide the correct decisions. If you think the pathway to this is through allowing the players to question whichever decision they particularly do not like, you have been proven wrong ever since they brought in the current DRS. \\

This is not americanising the game. Just because something has been 'done' a particular way for a long time does not make it the right way to do things; otherwise, I look forward to you going back purely to bartering and living like a Luddite.

the DRS is fine. It's the dumb captains that abuse it. It was brought it to eliminate the howlers. If you have to THINK about reviewing it, it's not a howler, so get on with it and play cricket. It's pretty simple. You take the good with the bad.

I don't want any system that makes the game more stop start. As it is the current system is bad enough, but I'll cop it as there are too many Joel Wilson's around! The system is fine right now.

Been a road the whole match, typical Adelaide pitch. Batting paradise.

Previous 4 Tests:
2015-16: NZ 202 & 208, Australia 224 & 7/187
2016-17: SA 9/259 & 250, Australia 383 & 3/127
2017-18: Aust 8/442 & 138, England 227 & 233
2018-19: India 250 & 307, Australia 235 & 291.

Yep .... batting "paradise"

... which is a great mindset to possess when what we're talking is park cricket, not test cricket.

Anyway, on with the game today.

This year does seem a LOT flatter though. Do think they could have left some more grass on the wicket

I agree with this 100%. The Labuschagne review is what it is for. He nicked it onto his pad, he knew it, so he called for the review straight away. Where I detest DRS is when a committee forms to discuss whether an umpire MAY have made a mistake, and worse still, calling for a review because they still have 2 left.

Pitch is giving him nothing

Such a dumb decision to follow on in my view. You want Lyon bowling day 5.

Not going to matter - this pitch is not going to deteriorate into a bunsen in one day - it was 100% the right call to maximise their bowling time against the top order under the lights.

Worst thing is they form the committee, have their mothers meeting and are still horrendously wrong!

The 2 reviews are silly, teams should get 1. They won’t abuse it then

There was a fair bit of grass to start with, at least by Australian standards. The pink ball seems to almost be behaving like the red Kookaburra. Swing for about four overs, then no swing or seam.
I do think the swing of the pink ball has been over-emphasised at times in the past but it seems to be pretty dead this year. That might be the price of improving preserving the colour.

It was partly timing for the lights, partly concerns about the weather. Either way made sense, though the time in the field is a worry for the quicks.

Still would have rather batted till dinner today and done the same thing

Fully support the decision to follow on given how quickly their top order fell, the rain and how weak their bowling is. I'd much rather be chasing 150 in the last session in Day 5 than trying to bowl them out in a day.

Still don't think we will be here tomorrow weather permitting

Generally agree Luke, although I'm pretty sure Paine or most other captains don't lose any sleep over these 'wasted' reviews of which really has become more of a media/commentator narrative.
And it's only in rare cases of poor umpiring (Joel Wilson) do so-called 'wasted reviews' have an impact on a match.
