That's the trick we've missed, getting Polly in early to let him settle in before he let's go.
Not sure how we've missed it when he's been coming in around the same time in most games. He's been sent in in the 14th over or earlier (including the 13th tonight) in all games except one.

The difference tonight is he was in with a set batsman, it was the first game we haven't lost a bunch of wickets at once.

Sodhi unbelievable last night, he was helped a bit by the Thunder having to go flat out for net run rate but he bowled superbly.

We'll do well next season if we can keep Sodhi, Laughlin, Hodge, Dunk and Stanlake while attracting a genuine star international (MS Dhoni?) without having to rely on plebs like Neser.

Dhoni wouldn't play here, his IPL team wouldn't allow it.

A wasted season in the end. We may not have the cattle compared to last season but we should have beaten the Stars, Gades and Heat and playing finals. We were cruising against the latter but fell away and the piss farting in the middle overs cost us against the Melbourne teams.

Does show names don't necessarily mean results. The Melbourne teams have been stacked with internationals for years yet are yet to win. The Renegades have been largely garbage.

C10 reporting Brad Hodge has been given the flick.

Think that is a good decision.
He was still good value this year, but at his age the cliff can come quickly. Struggled against genuine pace at times.

Apparently the Strikers have denied he's been sacked though, so this could get a bit messy.

Do we give Rashid up? We can only have two imports and we definitely need a batsman.
Rashid is unlikely to be available for the entire tournament though, and that's what we need.

Personally I'd go with an out and out batsman, a De Villiers or Guptil alongside Sodhi.

DeVilliers could captain as well

Christ, they've got to sort the schedule out.

The BBL is clubs, that need their players and have massive numbers of supporters. The ODIs are just friendlies, at the end of the summer.

The BBL should have scheduling integrity.

Certainly a change from the days when 20/20 was the hit and giggle and pension fund and playing for your country was more important.
I'm of the Micky Arthur school that T20 should largely be franchises and less internationals. You want the best players playing as much as possible, bar the Indians of course.
