Hello Dockers fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

They'll have a window now before Parker, Rampe et al retire and then will load up and go again with the young core.

Don't really rate Sydney's list as much as some when it comes to going all the way. Finals sure, but they are too small through the midfield. Same problem as us, but we have plenty of size coming through (Johnson, Young, Erasmus, Chapman, NOD, Stanley, Brodie).

They don't have much except Mills and a couple of guys best suited as half forwards (Heeney, Hayward). Their main core is Rowbottom, Gulden, Warner, Florent, Campbell, Cunningham, Sheldrick. Very small group and not going to cut the mustard when it comes to the crunch.

But I am sure there will be someone like Tom Green waiting in their academy to be picked up for a packet of chips.

Trey Ruscoe among 5 Magpies delisted.

Trey Ruscoe is heading back to Western Australia and set to sign with a WAFL club.

Pies are lucky they are good or there would be questions asked on why their CEO's son seems to get a free ride on an AFL list

5 games in 5 years and hasn't offered anything

Mmmm mustard…crunch…chips

I think Sydney will be around for some time. They are a driven to play finals as much as possible and tend to play finals more often than the system dictates.
Young stars like Gulden, Mills, Warner, McDonald even Papley and Heeney are only about 27, they always attract good free agents and trades too and seem to develop mid range picks like florent and Sheldrick and rowbottom into very competent AFL footballers.
No doubt they will be throwing the kitchen sink at a star key forward next year too if the Naughton reports are anything to go by.
Unusually at the expense of clubs like us who play finals less than the system dictates on average.
The average club should be in the top 8 about 45% of the time over a 25 year period or so in a steady state comp. Pre 2010 it was 50% of the time (8/16 teams).
The good clubs buck that trend and play more often at the expense of weaker clubs who make more poor decisions.
Yes Sydney get a leg up from their academy’s which we dont gave but they also are a well run organisation, better than the likes of ourselves, Essendon and Carlton over the last 25 years or so. We should be learning from what they do well all the time.

For us to play finals 10 times in the next 20 years, between now and 2043, we need to be better than “afl average” (that old chestnut - I hate that fcuking phrase) in everything we do. On and off the field.

This seems an awful a lot like FOMO. All power to Joel, he should jump at any security he can get. We coped pretty well without him in 2022.
You mean the year we had Logue playing on Curnow and Cameron and keeping them goalless? Yeah, I suppose we did cope

Sounds like the Bailey Banfield of the Collingwood footy club

Had depth in Logue.
Now it’s bare.

Do not trust Alex Pearce to not break down. Every week it’s anxiety watching him play. Suddenly Bell trusts his durability? Yeah right.

If Fremantle don’t make any incomings, then can’t see finals happening next year either.

Out of interests, if you were to target a kpf, who would it be?
Not sure about everyone else. But I think logan is tracking fine. Not his fault that amiss is freak.

Only other one that comes to mind (that would be even remotely achievable) would be luko. Would be a good foil for the others.

Yeah we had a good run with injuries lately and haven’t had to use our depth too much. Like Davies but he’s a year or two away.

Key defenders are hot property at the moment. If there’s even a half decent one in the league at the moment they’re not coming over here to be depth when they guaranteed a game at several other clubs.

I think letting Hamling go for the sake of not being prepared to give him a decent offer is up there with Acres stupid.

We’ve got a bunch of guys like Corbett, Worner who are not AFL standard on multiple years, barely adequate in O’Meara on 4 & we can’t keep a premiership quality defender who’s only 30 around.

Just utterly stupid on so many levels.

Watch him play 22 games of quiet, competent defense at Sydney next year while we are literally screwed if Pearce, Ryan or Cox goes down. We’ve got nothing in the shed. Nothing. And we let him walk.
Insane.

All that's for it right now is to see what key defensive depth we can dredge up in the rookie picks and/or SSP and get about fast-tracking Davies' and Draper's development. They might have a trade in mind, but for depth?

hes played 6 games in 3 years. relax

Does no one remember how ****ed we were for key defenders in 2020? Hamling and Pearce and Logue injured for basically the whole year. Cox had never played defence at AFL level. Yet we finished that year with a top 5 defence. We’ll survive
