But but but, you’re allowed to bump someone with the ball. It’s in the rules.

You can argue that Higgo should have been more aware of possible contact because he had the ball, Rohan shouldn’t expect to be picked off.

You're also allowed to bump someone without the ball if they are within 5 meters of the ball. If Rohan is trying to pressure/tackle an opponent he should be expecting others to try and stop him.

How did Zurhaar not get cited?

Here's another for those who remember Josh Gibson's shepherd on Geelong's Tom Ruggles which he got off.

The MRP on the Gibson incident:

Contact between Hawthorn’s Josh Gibson and the Geelong Cats’ Tom Ruggles from the second quarter of Monday’s match was assessed. The panel said that Hawthorn’s Isaac Smith had the ball, with Ruggles on the mark. Smith moved to play on and began to head to his left to move down the ground, with Ruggles seeking to pressure his disposal. Gibson comes from the side to provide a block for his teammate. Gibson makes body to body contact with Ruggles and, in the course of that contact, the players’ heads clash. On the MRP guidelines around rough conduct that covers head clashes, it was the view of the panel that the degree of force in Gibson’s block was not excessive for the situation, the panel’s view was that Ruggles was involved in the play when contact was made by Gibson as he was seeking to pressure Smith, Gibson did not run a long distance to support his team mate and Gibson did not jump or leave the ground to make contact with his Geelong opponent. On consideration of all those factors, the panel’s view was that Gibson’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken

I could argue if Burton tackles the whole thing is a non issue.

The logical outcome of this is that the shepherd will be outlawed.
The logical outcome is I just start watching local footy where this schit isn't an issue.

I only support a club, not the AFL.

It's the only reason I don't join you, but they're getting close to killing my passion for the competition, and I am far from alone.

You could, but I could argue that a head clash could have occurred with a tackle.

Mate, I’m not for the rule but I understand it. That’s the difference. You guys are all acting on emotion, step back and think about it. The issue is the rule.

I understand the rule.

Elect to bump and wear the consequences.

But honestly what do the rules matter?

Grading is subjective, interpretation is subjective. As evidenced by stars having suspendable offenses ignored.

To my mind Durdin is going to be suspended for a football act.

I'd have less issue with Cunners coping a week for punching a bloke in the guts.

It's a contact sport, full contact. Sometimes people get hurt, have done for 150 years.

The game is over officiated and it makes me sick.

Agree wit all that expect grading is subjective. Grading used to be subjective but everyone complained because they thought the MRP (or what ever it was called back then) ga e different penalties for what THEY thought was the same thing. So now we’ve got this system where every event has to be put into a box.

We, the footy public complained, and now we complain when they fixed the issues we complained about.

Rohan SHOULD HAVE been expected to be picked off with a legal action, its part of the game. Yes the rule is stupid but so is its inconsistent application.
