Atleast WI have given us something. Might last 4 days now

It could still be over in 3 days if Shamar Joseph and his mates can bowl Australia out twice in two days, stranger things have happened.

I'd love that just for the absolute chaos and pandemonium it would cause!

Ussie was top scorer from EITHER side in away series in india and in away series in england thats a pretty special achievement in one year, out of the 4 finalists for player of the year who would you say was clearly above him anyway?

Root played a few home series to get most of his runs in 2023 with only two away tests for year so even if you take into account usman playing more matches you cant ignore that he made runs away in india and england while root made them mostly at home.

head had great year but didnt perform as well away from home as usman did, ashwin had 40 wickets for year in 8 tests but once again nearly all at home i dont see how thats better than top scoring away in india and england? so its easy to poke a few holes in his year but seems like ones he was up against you can do that as well.

also just seems weird to use volume of tests against him when 9 of the 13 tests for year were two of the toughest tours we face not like he filled his boots at home in 9-10 tests with 2-3 tests away for year.
I’m sure we can agree to disagree, and leave it at that, no opinions are likely to be changed.

media would write it off as a dead rubber and move on sadly, we like to think our team is bullet proof, it isn't.

it's actually a great test for our top 6 to stand up today as the bowlers won't be bowling out india for under 200 all next summer that's for sure.

If the Windies could get to 300 then that’d be competitive with early wickets, pitch was looking decent to bat on late yesterday though.

24k at the ground so far. Highest crowd for an Australia vs West Indies test match at the gabba.
Says plenty about the fickle QLD fans.
Day 1 of a test in prime time slot and they are celebrating 23k like it’s some massive achievement?

Anyway, great to see a bit of ticker among the Windies lads and hopefully they can continue to develop

The lack of twilight makes a difference in Brisbane, there's was no period like they get here where the ball hoops and batting gets much harder.
With each pink ball test we are learning how to make it a contest and what grounds best make it happen.

It's not a prime slot. School holidays have already ended there because they're weirdos. Should get more through the gates today and probably tomorrow too.

Aussie red ball cricket has cleaned up at the annual ICC awards with our skipper taking the top gong, the Garfield Sobers Award for Player of the Year. Ussie Test Player of the year with Phoebe Litchfield Emerging Female Player of the Year.
