I'm surprised at how bullish a lot of non North supporters are about where my team will finish. I don't think we are quite there at this stage.

Grand Final: Sydney Def Fremantle (Adelaide lose Prelim, Richmond out in straight sets)

Had a good chuckle at the bolded, especially the percentage. :D:thumbsu:

You're thinking as though we believe you guys are going to win the premiership. I'm thinking about the epic lulz when you fall flat on your face and the meltdown that will follow if you go out in straight sets. :D

It's not that surprising mate you were very competitive against Hawthorn/Geelong you expect the glaring deficiency in finishing games out to be resolved with another preseason and along with a favorable fixture you can see why North are in a lot of supporters list as bolters.

Like Port supporters this year when they faced us at 5-0 and lost? Or 119? Also this is a topic for ladder predictions, not who has a genuine chance at a flag, there's another topic for that. So you're wrong.

If North finish below Richmond, I'll join Atheist to make it a spit roast
Like many others I'm here for the blowies, but is yours tied to Collingwood finishing 16th as well? If Atheist escapes, will you still be dealing them out? Not that it would make up for finishing below the tiggers two years in a row, but it might ease the pain a little.

Grand Final: Sydney Def Fremantle (Adelaide lose Prelim, Richmond out in straight sets)

Easily the worst prediction ever.

Bit hard this far out, but will have a crack and throw a few surprises in there for arguments sake.

Ladder after H&A:
1. Fremantle
2. Sydney
3. Hawthorn
4. Essendon
5. Richmond
6. North Melbourne
7. Geelong
8. Gold Coast

9. Adelaide
10. Carlton
11. Collingwood
12. Brisbane
13. Port Adelaide
14. Western Bulldogs
15. West Coast
16. Melbourne
17. GWS
18. St Kilda

And here we go for a laugh:

Week 1
Fremantle v Essendon at Patersons
Sydney v Hawthorn at ANZ Stadium
Richmond v Gold Coast at MCG
North Melbourne v Geelong at MCG

Week 2:
Essendon v North Melbourne at MCG
Hawthorn v Richmond at MCG

Preliminary Finals:
Fremantle v Hawthorn at Patersons
Sydney v Essendon at ANZ Stadium

Grand Final:
Fremantle v Essendon

Grand Final: Essendon v Fremantle will be a draw 14.12 a piece.

Eventual Game 2 Premiers: Fremantle by 5 points with a dodgy free kick to Hayden Ballantyne and a shot after the siren.
Crowd is silent as he lines up. A goal = A Freo Flag. A point, and we come back for a history making THIRD Grand Final Replay! He kicks the goal.

Norm Smith Game 1: Dyson Heppell
Norm Smith Game 2: David Mundy

Brownlow: Joel Selwood

Coleman: Tom Boyd (GWS)
Rising Star: Tom Boyd

Enjoy...

18 - ST KILDA (What a rabble, McEvoy trade one of the worst things I've ever seen)
17 - GWS GIANTS (It's a long way to the top, good luck Leon Cameron. Mumford & H.Shaw will be important acquisitions)
16 - BRISBANE (Leppa has plenty to do if he wants to clean up Vossy's mess)
15 - WEST COAST (The superstars are cooked, their prime-aged mids all butcher the footy and are too slow for Subi)
14 - MELBOURNE (Roosy's a gun)
13 - ESSENDON (Allegations of PED use is sure to weigh heavily on the mind of any professional athlete, let alone forty)
12 - WESTERN BULLDOGS (Liam Jones & Jarrad Grant are finally turning into something useful. Dogs midfield becoming a powerful unit)
11 - ADELAIDE (I could be underrating them but I cant see Crows making the eight unless Tex wins the Coleman and Dangerfield wins the Brownlow. Pods will be a handy foil for Tex)
10 - GOLD COAST (I'd love to see Gary drag them into their first finals, doubt they can win 12-13 games yet, very dangerous though especially at Metricon)
9 - COLLINGWOOD (If Bucks is smart about it they'll be able to regenerate by the time Grundy is ready to dominate the comp, I think they may linger around the middle for the next couple of seasons)

8 - GEELONG (Didn't rate their off-season, offloading Pods and West in particular raised my eyebrows, those kids would wanna be pretty good)
7 - RICHMOND (Their very best could get them close to the top four, must back up 2013 and make finals again in 2014, missing out altogether would be a huge backward step. Vickery doing anything would help)
6 - NORTH MELBOURNE (Still have huge concerns over how their defence can cope against the massive forwards but the midfield of Swallow, Wells, Ziebell and now Dal Santo should be very exciting)
5 - PORT ADELAIDE (Watch out for Wingard, he's going to be the best player I've seen from that club)
4 - CARLTON (Warnock's development as a bona-fide #1 ruck gives them plenty of flexibility, Henderson, Waite, Walker & Kruezer can now go anywhere anytime)
3 - FREMANTLE (Will go close again if Pav, Sandilands and McPharlin are all available come late September, without them however they can be tamed. Looking forward to seeing how the '13 GF affects guys like Fyfe & Ballantyne in 2014)
2 - HAWTHORN (They lose Buddy but Big Boy McEvoy makes the Hawks more versatile and much harder to stop, they have two genuine gun rucks and their best 22 is now very even all over the ground)
1 - SYDNEY (You can argue it all you like, but fully fit we have the best defence, the best midfield and the best forward line in the AFL. Injuries and complacency will be our only barriers to glory)

Premiers - Sydney
Runners Up - Hawthorn

Leigh Matthews Trophy - Gary Ablett (GC)
Brownlow - Chad Wingard (PA)
Coleman - Lance Franklin (Syd)
Norm Smith - Luke Parker (Syd)

Argue all you like? We'll let's start off by saying if Sydney has the best mids, forwards, and backs in the league despite only acquiring buddy, and losing a few players, why the hell didn't you win the flag this year with the best mids and backs in the league? I mean injuries couldn't possibly have hurt the best team in the league that much right?
Jack, hannerbury, McVeigh, Kennedy barely missed a game yet your mids were blown out twice in 3 weeks.
Argue all yout like but Sydney isn't the best all over the ground

1 - SYDNEY (You can argue it all you like, but fully fit we have the best defence, the best midfield and the best forward line in the AFL. Injuries and complacency will be our only barriers to glory)

Fremantle has the best defence in the competition. And arguably the best midfield as well with Fyfe, Mundy, Barlow, Crowley, Hill, Pearce, Sylvia and Sandilands.

I'd agree more with that than Sydney.
You could argue that Geelong has as good or better forwards and/or backs.
West coast has a great forward line
That's before I get all bias myself and start talking up the team that actually had the best forward line last year, and played buddy off a wing and hff. And you could argue goes 15 deep through the middle, and also has a backline with the Norm Smith medalist, and the bnf in a premiership year.

But yeah. Arguably Sydney is the best everywhere.

No bias or anything

Argue all you like but Sydney isn't the best all over the ground
Backs: Richards, Grundy, LRT, Johnson, Rampe, Smith, Shaw & Malceski

Mids: Kennedy, O'Keefe, Jack, McVeigh, Hannebery, Jetta, Parker, Bird & Mitchell

Forwards: Franklin, Tippett, Reid, Goodes, McGlynn & Rohan

Give me one defence, midfield or forward six that beats ours and I'll concede.

there are better man, Sydney have only made top 4 on two occasions since 2007.
Next year will really test out the older players as there are 9 aged 29 or over who are still in the best 22 and although age can be irrelevant to form, it does mean injury-niggles can start to creep up on you.
That first sentence has no relevance to anything.

The second sentence I agree with, which is why I prefixed my initial statement with "fully fit"

I'll bite and play with the mids.
Fyfe, Crowley, mundy, hill, Pearce, and Barlow.
That mid with others running through there such as ballantine, and the like, walked over your midfield in your last game. Sorry if I missed anyone.
In your third last game Mitchell, Hodge, Lewis, hill, shiels, rioli, Sewell, with guys like pup, bruest, roughie, and others did the same thing to the tune of 10 goals. If you want me to play with another line just ask.
