I have commented on this in the past. Carlton had nothing to really play for. 5th place was guaranteed. Plus we had Cripps and Docherty out.

Reckon GWS might give Port a run in this. Will be very hard to beat them in Adelaide though and think Port will get over the line, but I can't write them off.

Hungry team vs a soft bunch who is satisfied with their winning streak, a coach that has no incentive to win because contract extension and a player drinking his own bath water after taking numerous end of season awards.

I can easily see GWS getting up in this one.
Port were really cut open by Brisbane. It's gotta put a big dent in their confidence. Fair few of their younger players didn't handle the pressure either.
It will be interesting to see Ports response.

2001 (with Brisbane coincidentally as the QF opponent), but the "again" part is stretching it a touch given it was over 20 years ago.

I am praying port get up.
GWS are playing great football, super balanced team all over the field.
Dismantled Carlton and StKilda on the road with ease, form beforehand very good as well.
Port are banged up but fingers crossed.
