Another US mass shooting

Teaching them safety with something that isn't dangerous unless you get hit in the eye is more valuable than Australians getting scared by something that isn't a gun by their internal definition because of how it looks.

The reality is that there are more guns there than people, even if they stopped selling them all today the chances of a person coming across one in their life is very high.
Correct. It'll take generations to change - not that they'll ever get started.

27 school shootings - this year.

24 children went to school this year and never came home. School Shootings This Year: How Many and Where

I don't even know what to make of that, other than the dumb*s who will explain this away, will most likely never be in the situation that those parents were in today.

And to think there were some parties wanting to get in the Senate wanting to reintroduce semi automatics or allow citizens to carry handguns.
The US is a country of cranks and the National rifle club or what ever they call themselves are the biggest cranks
The US is a 3rd world country with its gun laws and hasn't moved on from the days of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday, and you have to say most, not all of these school murders are done by white people men

Same. Ive been twice about 10 years ago and the people are friendly and welcoming.

When i see videos of some cities now, homelessness is out of control, drug use is sky high, and mass shootings are becoming more regular.

I distinctly remember the first time our tour bus stopped at a walmart to grab some snacks and I saw rifles hanging on a wall with ammunition in a glass cabinet below. The access to those things is ridiculous. Felt quite uncomfortable seeing how easy it was to purchase guns like that.

That was K-Mart in Australia in the 70s and early 80s, luckily we woke up to ourselves.

Enough of this “the time has come for Americans to take a stand on Guns!!” nonsense.

Americans will NEVER take a stand against guns.

As long as their political system is rigged to allow a Republican minority population to command a majority in state and federal legislatures aided by courts stacked by Republicans no long term gun control will ever happen. Period, so it’s not worth discussing.

Question is why don’t we have an honest conversation in Australia about why this diseased, violent, corrupt society is our “number one ally”. They obviously do not share Australia’s values on this topic, and a lot of other issues too (healthcare, criminal justice, religion etc). Why don’t we align more with the free of guns, free healthcare providing secular EU? Why not Asian societies that value collective safety over individual “freedoms”? Australians seemed supportive of strict measures to combat Covid versus the USA where they let it run rampant.

Here's one of the responses, it shows how utterly stupid these people can be.

(As was pointed out to this individual, they DO have "car control" in the USA. You know, rego, licensing, insurance, road rules, etc).

What a dumbass we/they do have car control, you need a licence to operate a motor vehicle and there are varying grades of licence to operate larger / more dangerous vehicles like trucks etc.

EDIT: Oh and you have to register them and all that information goes into a searchable digital database.

Europeans have never been interested in providing military support in the pacific.

and what asian country would that be? South korea is too small. Japan has only recently started building its military back.

Such tragic and avoidable deaths. When will the US of Guns learn that if you give access to guns easily to people that inexplicable and horrific events like this will occur. Time for gun reform.

It's just ridiculous logic. Knife crime will go up if they ban guns, you can see evidence of that everywhere with sensible gun laws but it's not a reason to not have stronger gun control.
That’s the thing as well, it’s not even a ban on firearms
Just some common sense would go a long way

Background checks, licensing, justify ownership and a ban on military grade assault weapons

Oh yes, God and Mental Health! The Mental Health support that Republicans disagree is a human right.
No she covered that
Meds are the problem, find god

The answer to everything is more guns and more Christians, preferably with guns
