Backing players has backfired for us quite a bit.

We backed Boult to bowl the super over after he had dropped a catch and went for runs in the final (wasn't his day and clearly Lockie should have bowled), Rutherford who averaged 20 for years and got to double digits once a blue moon, then Raval who was in such bad form he was getting tied down by Leach on our roads. Then there's Santner who hasn't done s**t with the ball for us ever. Our pacers had taken 100 wickets between them before a spinner finally took a wicket in Hamilton.

450 and this Test is ours.
Our bowlers will be a handful on this pitch.
If Kwiis bat well 300 is about as good as it would get.
Then we bat again for a few sessions and they bat in worst period of the match.200 on this pitch batting last against Pattinson, Starc and Cummins,, good luck...

They should still have a close in fielder when bowling short to Head.. they are getting mentally lazy.

This is looking like an expanded version of our 2 day park cricket.

You know if you get to lunch at 2/60 off 35 overs you'll end up with 250+ as the bowlers tire, the fourth stringers get a bowl and the fielders lose interest.

Feeling a bit nostalgic watching this bowling. There's a bit of circa 1990's indoor cricket Larry Barnsworth about this. Lazy front arm. No drive through the crease. No spin. Little control. Yep - very familiar.

I'm always amazed to see bowlers reach Test cricket with obvious flaws in his action. Makes you wonder what coaches are doing.
