Nick's bum must be twitching. He can't go into season 3 bottom again and hope to keep his job. Forget 1 place pick improvement in the draft. Marketing will be all over themselves. Being Adelaide we will extend him another 2 years this year.

I reckon Nicks' real contract season begins next year - last year and this have been a free hit to position himself and the club the best to move forward with. Can't really put it on the coach for finishing bottom if the club decides to go on a deep rebuild.

Eh, frustratingly Lynch is certainly a part of an answer to that problem. Himmelberg is probably the best out of our depth forwards, but at the expense of Thilthorpe has me perplexed.

This may not age well, but....surely the only reason we can possibly have both Lynch and Tex in the squad is if Tex is injured and has to pass some kind of fitness test. The only way Lynch stays in is if Tex is out. We cannot have Fog ,Himmleberg and Frampton in the same side, even if Billy plays back (which might make sense given how big their forwards are and we haven't promoted Fish or Worrell). Our forwards will be too big.

This is the most disappointing aspect for me this year. Smith hasn't been anywhere near his all-Aust form of a few years back and his kicking has been terrible. Sloane is not the player he once was - you could always guarantee some gut running and inspirational play a few yrs back - no more. Unfortunately there hasn't been enough talent shown in the twos to force these guys out, so our seniors stay in, and the team stays wallowing in mediocrity.

When we have brought in young players, they've been ok for one week, then missing the next in most cases. The year's now caught up with TT as well. All of this, coupled with the poor form of McAdam and Rowe, the drop off with Hamill, Sholl, Berg and McAsey now has us back to 2020's sh*teness. Add Fog to those not improving, and we have the worst list of any club at the minute, and are lucky to have won 5. Personally, I'd be tanking hard from here on, as we're nowhere near it.

I agree but next year will make or break for him. I dont want us signing him up early just like we do with all our coaches. We saw improvement early in the year but the side has really levelled out. Nicks needs to take responsibility for that. The club needs to help with a couple of mature quality recruits.

these selection prove that.. there may have been a few staff/coaching/managerial changes over the past 2-3 years.. but nothing has really changed at all at the club.

it will be a long long time before we are anywhere near serious finals contenders again.
