I'm ok with us resting RT for a week, he's got through a fair bit of work this season and could benefit from a small spell.

Himmelberg was going to play last week until illness, but I wouldn't have bothered.

Mackay again......

My guess is Frampton, Berry, RT and McPherson as emergencies. Maybe Pedlar instead of one of them

There's a chance we will drop Thilthorpe and play Himmelberg (and maybe Frampton as well) instead

Lol.
I doubt Frampton plays but I'm not opposed to resting Riley for a week.... As long as that's what it is.

That last part is key isn't it
It absolutely is.

Even a week in the 2s to find the pill a bit more, play up the ground.

But has to come straight back in.

You'd be happy, they got it right again. A choice between a useless senior player and a kid goes the waybof the senior player again. And Lynch, who was a moral, but there's whispers about not offering him a contract, why play him if that's true. It's Richie Douglas all over again. No eye for the future at all, every decision goes against playing kids ahead of seniors. The 4 points this week remains the sole goal of the AFC. Any player development is happenstance. We've not made a single active decision at selection that suggests otherwise.

Anyone still want to say we aren't on the tank?

Doedee is out and hasn't been replaced with a defender. Butts and Murray up against Kennedy, Darling and Allen/Naitanui.

Baha.
Wet day, but yeah I thought the same

It's concerning that our answer to big failures is always to add comfortable, known experience (no matter how mediocre) rather than trying something new or different with any sort of potential.

I mean did our coaches really see our forward line/entire side last week and think the answer was to bring in Lynch and Himmelberg? Like was that the problem? We didn't have Himmelberg up forward...?

Lynch I do get.

Himmelberg I do not.

Getting the sense a few selections are "you've got 5 weeks to prove you belong on the list next year" type picks.

rubbish, it's about getting a win. Name the players that we need to see to make a call on? I'll add your fantasy to the list of reasons people manufacture in order to refuse to believe the obvious. Nothing has changed, Nicks is running the same philosophies that Pyke ran. He was employed by Roo, Chapman and Fagan, his philosophies had to align with theirs or he'd not gotten the job.

You don't make calls on the future of players that have been on the list for season after season by seeing them playing 5 games.

You should already have a very good idea of what they bring. Don't waste games. Make the call and play guys with a future

Doedee is out and hasn't been replaced with a defender. Butts and Murray up against Kennedy, Darling and Allen/Naitanui. Particularly after what happened earlier in the year.

Baha.

we're not tanking, Frampton played there last week and they're sticking with that. Plus he'd make 3 key talls which is 2 more than we played most of the year. They'll probably trust Kelly on Darking, there's only 1cm between the two of them. You don't keep playing injured seniors and bringing back Lynch if you're not trying to win. Just accept that selection hasn't changed since Pyke, we're not tanking, that is our most experienced side we can pick. We just suck and our coaches are no different at selection than what we've gotten used to.
