Happy with the fine, loss of points might have been over the top, however I don’t understand how there isn’t specific sanctions on the doctor/Hinkley.
I honestly believe the AFL is too scared to suggest the doctor has been negligent. It would immediately lead to a lawsuit from the doctor as it would be near impossible to prove it.

Didn't Port rort the old sub rule too, they would sub a player for concussion but then play him the week after, effectively forcing the AFL to change the rule to all injuries?
Now the rule is use it whenever, as a tactical sub, but I recall Port using it against teams as a tactical sub under the guise of concussion.

Cornes saying Dr was using his 40 years experience and saying his decision was justified because of passed tests.

Surely, this is a protection racket. Protocol written by concussion specialists surely over-rides 40 years experience from non-experts in concussion. Isn't this exactly why concussion protocols exist? To protect players from 40 years experience of non-experts in the field.....

A passed scat5 does not necessarily indicate concussion hasn't happened. It's just 1 tool.

The more they defend this doctor, the more he seems out of touch with modern practices.

The Matildas obviously not reading the AFL papers on concussion. Might be a 7-day layoff in Soccer.

12:20PM ANOTHER INJURY SCARE FOR MATILDAS, KERR UPDATE

- Marco Monteverde

The Matildas have suffered another injury scare, with defender Charlotte Grant a victim of delayed concussion.

Grant was involved in a heavy clash after coming on in the dying stages of Australia’s 4-0 FIFA Wonen’s World Cup win over Canada last Monday night.

Concussion symptoms have since emerged, with Grant confined to the sidelines on Friday during the Matilda’s’ training session in Brisbane.

However, a Matildas spokeswoman said Grant would be available for selection for Australia’s round-of-16 clash against Denmark in Sydney on Monday night, having met the requirement for concussion protocols.

Grant is the third Matildas player to suffer from concussion during the tournament, with Mary Fowler and Aivi Luik having been concussed on the training paddock last week.

As Grant watched on from the side of yeh field at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, Matildas captain Sam Kerr spent time on an exercise bike as she continues her bid to overcome a calf injury in time for the battle with the Danes.

Crazy because everyone who has played soccer realises nothing makes concussion symptoms easier to deal with than heading the ball back from a kick out by the goalie in wet conditions

What did Koch say about Sam Mayes partner?

I’ve heard mention it was poor but couldn’t find the link.
