Dont disrespect the women's game and then pretend you have the moral high ground.

Port coach and players talking about Koch like we used to Talk about president jeff. 'He's a passionate fan but.....'

After the Gold Coast jumper episode, Koch will be ecstatic Trumbull brought Chinese premier along and got him photographed in a swans scarf

Looking forward to seeing Sam rack up 30+ possessions today.... not :(

Eh, Sam Mitchell plays for us yesterday and the result would be exactly the same. We got killed on leg speed - Sammy and Jordan would help us very little there.

I think we got beaten on composure.
The players played like deers in headlights, poor kicking to position, handballs to the feet of teammates, and no pressure on the opposition.

This meant lots of turnovers.

That will be sorted out.

West Coast playing some very good football. Their link up play is terrific and the way they go inside 50 is something we need to replicate
Kennedy leading at the ball carrier and taking grabs. It's not rocket science

If they click they'll easily be second favourites to GWS after a few round I think. They won't miss Nic Nat - you don't need a class ruckman to win a flag.

Mitchell and Lewis will kill it for their new teams, but will likely no longer be playing by the time we're truly ready to contend over multiple seasons again.

Great news that Riewoldt's knee injury is nothing major. Would have been a shocking way to end his career.

I remember Wayne Schimmelbusch's career ending with a knee injury at the SCG in 1987 (to name but one such instance). So yes that's good news on Nick.

Adelaide taking it up to GWS. We're going to get smashed next week.
Adelaide are a 5-7 better goal side than Essendon...Sloane hasn't played all pre-season and will be better for the run today. Tex walker isn't even playing.
The amount of time last night, the bombers smaller forwards ran rings around the Hawks back line was laughable. Adelaide's forward line have betts, Cameron, milera and Menzel to compliment walker, Jenkins, lynch and McGovern. They will kick 25 goals+ next week.

It's debatable as they would have controlled the game when we had the ball. But it's not about Round 1 or even 2017. Why keep them and finish 5-8th and make up the numbers when we can drop down, build back up for a flag tilt in the next few years.

Also, Sam may not be playing all 22 games this season, especially with the travel factor. I think he'll be managed from the middle to latter part of the seasons.

No! We did NOT get killed on leg speed. The ball moves MUCH faster than legs do. But move that ball to no man's land and leg speed hurts you. Hit a player on the chest, and it doesn't matter how slow he is, he has the ball. Sammy hits you on the chest, don't need speed if you have the ball.

We got killed on not being able to hit a target all night.

Speed was a factor though. How many times did we get swarmed at the contest for them to beat us as well as beat us on the spread. If we are committing less numbers to the ball ideally we should be able to spread when we win it and protect when we don't. We rarely did either.

But 100% agree on the fact that our s**t kicking was a major factor. Bombers did a great job in hunting the ball carrier. How many of our kicks were rushed kicks around the corner?

I hate to play the 'I was at the game card' - but, yes, we did get absolutely slaughtered on leg speed - and it mattered. Not that your point isn't valid - but we were outgunned on pace so noticeably around the ground.

They ran harder, they were faster chasing the ball, our structures were poor and we dropped plenty of marks, Sam doesn't fix any of that
