Glass did also make it as AA captain, so clearly someone rated his leadership 
Opinion Hurn... is he the right guy for captain?

By players..... So it's basically a popularity contest.
Glass was the perfect captain to rebuild the club after the fallout. One of the very few players that wasn't tainted. Level headed and helped usher a new generation in.
I do however think it's time to have someone that can take the game by the scruff of the neck again. Shuey is the painfully obvious choice.
People question Glass' on field leadership, but one thing that stood out was he was rarely beaten by his opponents. Usually undersized as well. When the captain, playing at full back, is winning most contests, that's gotta be somewhat inspiring.

If glass was still a 27 year old buck playing now, he’d be the best option. Better than shuey. Glass became an amazing leader, when he spoke you listened. When hurn speaks you cover your ears at some of the s**t he says. He’s uncomfortable in front of he media, which a captain can’t be.

Glass was very much in the Woosha mould, wonderful Captain.
In the beginning I wasn't too sure about Glassy but he grew into the position and was inspirational as a leader.
Glass also had the chiseled jawline that demands respect from your peers
So what's the problem with Hurn exactly? Too passive in peoples opinions? Serious question, I have no qualms with Shuey becoming captain, I'm just not across issues folk have with Hurn
My two cents
(Having played with hawkish, verbose captains and quiet achievers alike) I actually don't put a lot of stock in Captains (or leaderships groups) like others tend to. The so called "Luke Hodge" effect I think is, by and large, overrated and is a product of sensationalist footy media. I think the difference between a great and a good captain on field is pretty limited. In saying that I still think they have an important role to play, but for me it's more off field as press conference specialist and figureheads, and to put the fear of god into the rookies

From memory don't think the Club announces the Captain until the new year.

Yeah definitely earmarked you'd think. Not sure if he is too young though, 21 this month, actually maybe not.
If Hurn steps aside as captain look out

As much as Shuey screams captain for his onfield play, I don't see Hurn stepping down.
