Father Suns and Sister Suns have arrived, just looking at them might get us sent straight to hell.

Senor M's search has a happy ending, Mister M has been found and he is here tonight supporting his cousin.

I think Test Tickle's obsession with showers is getting out of hand, he has setup a portable shower on the Red Carpet and it looks like kane249 is actually going to use it.

I see the Goalkicking King Of Las Vegas Cap has arrived, can he go back to back and win his 3rd frying pan Mateflon Medal.

Last but not least we have MWPP and her cohort of super friends, por_please_ya, Dingster & Chipmunk. Like Cap, MWPP will be looking to go back to back.

We will take a short break and hear from one of tonight's sponsors, before JoshWoodenSpoon takes over for the count of the Season 33 Mateflon Medal. Good Luck to all the Bears.

Thank you tony - a lot to keep up with there, and as always you are up to speed on the frightful trends and daring chicanes of the red carpet. And to all the rest of you, hello and welcome to the great city of Las Vegas! We're here to commemorate a slammin' season and the efforts of all Bears who made it so. A painstaking and totally corruption-free process has been adhered to that sees SweetFA's most prestigious award - The Mateflon - bestowed to the Best and Fairest* player of the Season. Thank you to Electronic_Renaissance, MWPP, Senor M, Millky95, tony, Muddiemoose and Father Suns for your help with the blurbs and votes!

Well it has been such a treat spending the season with you all, and I'm glad to have a night to celebrate what great folk you are, even if you drop the bundle on the qooty field with unbelievable regularity. In a few short moments, the count will begin, so please get comfy, and be sure to help yourself to the one free glass of hardly-at-all-watered-down beer that has been provided by the club. Here we go!

Ahhh the smell of a fresh new season, oh, actually thats just Muddiemoose.

Disgusting.

Anyway, Round 1 saw the Bears head to the hippodrome to take on those rascally Furies, who had a new look for S33.

What followed was a spamtastic week with many languages, civilizations and other random assortment of things brought to the the table. New Bears recruit Father Suns dropped an eyewatering 171 post debut for the Bears, with Cap also hitting the ton with an 107 post week. A great range of posts across the board from the Bears saaw 17 posters drop in and a huge 12 posters hit the 30 or more mark. A truly great start to the season.

It would only get better from there on Sunday as the Bears took to the field to fight it out with the Furies. A hot start to the match saw the Bears up 51 - 28 at the main break. With new recruits Senor M and King_Steele getting their first majors on the board in Bears colours. The 3rd quarter saw the Furies hit back with a run of 5 unanswered goals to trail by just a point leading into the last. Enter Matera92, Tef slammed his first for the day on the board to put the Bears up by 7, before we traded goals back and forth to see the Bears lead by 2 with 4 minutes remaining. Matera92 lays a tackle deep in the forward pocket of the Bears before picking up the ball and running into an open goal to slam the door shut on the Furies and successfully give the Bears a winning start to S33.

In his first game as captain Muddiemoose dominated with 25 disposals, 9 marks and 6 tackles, while new Bear Senor M racked up 17 touches to go with 2 goals.

All in all a great start to the season for the Bears.

The Bears’ first game at home came up against eventual premiers The Roys. kane249 opened with 2 goals for the Bears but a leaky defense caused the Bears to go into quarter time 15 points behind. A small spray lit a fire underneath full-forward Cap who kicked 6 goals out of a 9-goal term to give the Bears a well-earned 26-point lead. An inaccurate third term saw Cap kick his 7th for the match and the Bears getting out a 27 point lead. That was enough as a 4 for 4 term saw the Bears running out 26 point winners.

On-field Cap lead with 8 goals, kane249 had 3 goals from his 20 touches and MWPP had 22 touches along side 14 hitouts and a goal.

Posting wise Father Suns was 1 post shy of a double ton, with Millky95 and Muddiemoose supporting with above 70 each.

In Round 3 we travelled to the House of Gumby to take on the gumbies. In the leadup, Headless used his OPs as an opportunity to ramble on about the function of OPs , complete with "fancy graphics" and "in-depth statistics and analysis" . Returning star Bear Party Gull came out firing in the thread against his former team with backup from usual hard hitters Cap , Father Suns and Test Tickle along with multiple other quality contributors including Senor M tony , JoshWoodenSpoon in a surprisingly long 65 page match thread.

On a Warm day, we adjusted to the conditions better initially, storming to 33 point lead on the back of a 7 goal to 2 goal first quarter. The rest of the game was tight, with the Gumbies trimming the margin to 2 goals by half time and 10 points at the final change. In the final term we lead by as much as 14 points by the 12 minute mark but unfortunately ran out of steam, conceding the lead for the first time in the entire game at the 20.19 minute mark and going down to the undefeated home side in a painful 5 point loss.

Despite the final result not going our way, we had plenty of contributors around the ground. Senor M (108 DT, 2 goals, 2 tackles) was outstanding and the best on field overall, and worked well with Cap (4 goals, 3 behinds) who kicked a bag but could easily have had 7 goals. Evergreen veterans RookiePick (80 DT) and Millky95 (79 DT, game high 12 handballs, 7 tackles) also wound back the clock whilst fellow veteran Art Vandelay_ (3 goals, 3 behinds, 56 DT) was influential at forward pocket.

JoshWoodenSpoon started the week with his wonderful and insightful OPs for Round 5.

This week we took the short trip to the Underground to play our Las Vegas rivals, the Swamprats. We started the match well and got to a handy 21 point lead by quarter time. The next two quarters were pretty even and we were only able to extend our lead by 5 to have a 26 point lead going into the last quarter. With it being I Dont Care's 250 game the Bears weren't going to let this game slip away and kicked 9 goals in the last term to double our score and run away with a massive 65 point win.

The call to start Testy in the guts got louder this week and the coach listened but it only lasted 22 minutes before the coach dragged him late in the first term, he came back on later in the game and finished with 11 touches on the ground and many more in the showers. Electronic_Renaissance played his best game for the season getting the ball 24 times, the most for either side. It was a very even performance by the Bears with 15 out of 20 players getting a double figure disposal count. Party Gull had a match high 9 tackles, swooping on the rats like they were a hot chip.

Matera92 & TheTick kicked 3 goals each, with another 7 Bears chipping in on the day to kick a goal.

Off the field the Phoenix are one of the kindest & welcoming teams in the SFA. The week was headlined by MC Bad Genius taking us through his weekly games. Despite the attempts by yours truely to derail the festivities, the Phoenix were friendly banterers all week as they interacted with MWPP, Millky95 & tony while ignoring my antagonistic behaviour. This may have been a ruse however as once we got to game day the East Side Phoenix came out spitting straight fire. By quarter time East Side lead by 40 points, with the game out of reach by half time with the Bears trailing by 66 points.

In the second half the off field leaders took control on field with MWPP, Millky95 & Cap stepping up in a brave attempt at bringing respect back to Vegas with the final score East Side 112 to Vegas 63. A loss of 49 points.
