Excellent post, the only way it will change is when the main protagonist move on.
Eddy has gone and soon Gil will depart, precipitating a power vacuum at AFL head -quarters.

A distraction like this, with the Clubs trying to take back and influence of the AFL could be an ideal distraction for us.
The next move should be a dialogue with the Brown, the new Pies President (who the H/Sun tagged as the most influential person in the AFL)
Lol, the only way it will change is if we ignore the Victorians and just do it. Asking nicely has gotten us nowhere across multiple AFL CEO's and Collingwood presidents.

35,000 emails and letters to AFL HQ from Port fans/members/supporters, demanding change!

Flood the ****wits with a tsunami of correspondence, then rinse and repeat every couple of months until they scream "ENOUGH. You win!".

Smash these inept drongoes with facts, data, logic and passion until they accept that we Port fans will NEVER, EVER give in, even if our AFL lackies, sorry Leaders, cow-tow to their Lords and Masters in the temple of Malbun footy.

Bring the fight to those boneheads running ruining the game, and screw what our Board thinks.

Yeah but the good thing about running a club like Port with very low external pressure and expectation from the media, etc, is that all you have to do is convince the majority of the supporter base that it's really hard to win a premiership and it's going to take a lot of time and you basically buy yourself a decade in charge. Then when you don't achieve the goal you can just slink off with your millions and let the new administration do the same thing.

Just making a GF in the last 15 years would've been nice.

"aim to" is a far cry from "we exist to"

We are committed to the idea of attempting to win* premierships** on the proviso that everything goes our way, and we don't have an injured ruckman, or our co-captain hasn't gone waterskiing, or we don't get a home final (or worse, even if we do get a home final).

*It's a tough competition and someone's got to lose, so even if we make it and don't win it we'll still be happy for being able to give the boys a clap as they leave the field. Raise your scarves Power fans!

** Premierships can mean many things, they can be in the AFL, the AFLW, SANFL, SAAFL, Boaky's Indoor Mixed Netball team, Cairnlea Kenny winning at Angle Park, or even one of our young jets placing in the Half Time Grand Final sprint. It's what it's all about.
