Wow!!! WHat can be said?? There isnt much to say is there.

The best and most sweet victory ive seen the Power win. To beat Brisbane on their own biased cheating sh*theap, while the umpires gave Brisbane every ****ing oppurtunity to win the game is unbelievable.

Best victory ive seen!!!

Everyone stood up tonight. We hear all about Brisbanes injuries...big bloody deal. Francou, Kingsley, Hardwick, P Burgoyne, Wilson all out of the side and then losing Wakelin and Cochrane during the night. Well youd think we had our fair share of bloody players out to youd think wouldnt you!!!! But of course...you dont hear about any of that do you!!

I loved the way we just never gave up no matter what happened. We went 10 points down and we came back. We kept coming and coming and it was brilliant. BRILLIANT!!!!

Player reviews:

Wakelin - went off early.

Primus - his ruckwork was ok but he didnt do much else.

Dew - 2 vital goals!! Well done stewy!

Cochrane - I thought he did ok when he was on the ground.

Guerra - kept trying all night long.

Brogan - did ok in the ruck, not much else.

CCC - 2 great goals in the 2nd quarter. Onya Che!!

Cassisi - i thought that he was beaten by Aker, but he didnt do too badly.

K Cornes - played well.

Paxman - Lynch didnt have a huge impact on the match.

Bishop - excellent early, beaten by Brown late.

Poulton - what a champ!! Guts personified. Awesome game by Poults.

Stevens - a bit quiet than usual.

S Burgoyne - A great game i thought. Kicked some goals and was involved in some others.

Pickett - what a star!!! Absolute star!! Take away the first 5 or 6 weeks and hes been in our top 3 players for the year i reckon. Kicked the 2nd most amazing goal ive ever seen on a footy field (hodges the 1st). How did he kick that in the last quarter?? Unbelievable. Great game!

C Cornes - Started well...gave Brown too much space when Wakelin went off.

Schofield - one of our best players i thought. He rarely turns the ball over anymore. Like ever. Close to the best kick in our team.

Tredrea - the best zero goal game by a forward youll see. Gave away 7 or 8 goals directly from his handballs or kicks. fantastic match by Tredders.

Montgomery - Great game in defence.

James - the hero yet again. HIs last half was second to none. The two winning points as well.

Carr - BOG for mine. Gave Voss an absolute thrashing after half time. Kicked 4 goals and Voss had maybe 2 touches in the second half.

Wanganeen - Played very well, but made a number of errors. Still high in our best tho.

POTY Votes:
10 - Carr, James
9 - Tredrea, Schofield, Pickett, Poulton
8 - Montgomery
7 - Wanganeen, C Cornes, S Burgoyne
6 - Bishop, Paxman, CCC
5 - Stevens
4 - K Cornes, Cassisi, Brogan, Guerra, Dew
3
2 - Primus, Cochrane
1

BRILLIANT!!!!

Gee, in all the excitement, aren't we missing the biggest story of the night? Isn't anyone thinking Port may have won, but at what cost to our game? Doesn't anyone care that Gavin ripped his achilles and could be lost for the season - Gavin Dore, that is. Personally, I'm sorry he didn't take a few mates wth him. The maggots were a disgrace.

Christ, you nearly gave me a heart attack when you said Gavin.

Shattered. Hope the arseh*le cant walk for the rest of the year. THat moron was the main culprit in the first half for keeping the Lions in the game.

The most one-sided ****ing umpiring ive ever seen. Bordered on cheating for a while there in the first half.

Twice we got out to a 2 goal lead in the first half only to have the umpires gift the Lions 3 goals to peg us back thru 5 or 6 of the dodgiest free kicks youll see. That free kick to Lynch in the goalsquare - typical Lynch, only way he gets half his kicks. Funny how that the umpire didnt see that he had hold of Packo as well.
Then there was the Voss 50m...soft as butter. Then the Cornes holding the ball when 30 seconds earlier Caracella got caught the same way and no free kick at all. Then there was the Burgoyne deliberate before that..but of course the same thing happened 15 other times during the night and nothing was paid. Then the free to Voss in the middle which led to one fo those goals which was the worst free kick ive ever seen.

Then 2 of the last 3 Lions goals (the 2 before Akermanis's) were directly due to umpiring decisions as well.

Absolutely ****poor effort from the umpires. But who cares. We got up!! They can eat sh*t and die for all i care.

Take it as a sign that the football community rates Port's depth higher than that of the Lions'.

I used to suspect that the umpires used to just give frees like that to keep the game close. Then I dismissed that idea as being too cynical. Now I think maybe I was right with that. Had we got anywhere near the same kind of frees the Lions got tonight we would have won by about 6 goals.

Congratulations on your win. As a closely contested game for 4 quarters, it was one of the best games of footy I have watched in a while. Hats of to both sides for continually coming back against the other as the lead changed numerous times. You would appear to be a certainty for top spot now at the end of the minor round.

You have to be worried

I hope the lions finish out of the top four, so when they win the flag it will be even better. Surely you have to be concerned that a near full strength port side struggled to beat a lions team without Leppa, Scott, Johnson, Lappin, right there we have three of the best 20 players in the AFL, i can't wait for the next five weeks when the lions run into full strength, the power will be ****ed, have your moment now, cause it won't last for long.

Most of the comments by Lions supporters have shown themselves to be gracious losers. Unfortunately, there is always going to be at least one prick.

And yes, it was only 1 point but it was with a biased free kick count and it was up at the Gabba. Remember your team only won by 10 points at AAMI Stadium and that was with those missing players you are mentioning, with us losing 2 major players during the course of the match and with that stupid Primus rule meaning that just about every centre clearance went to the Lions.

I happen to agree with him so leave him the hell alone okay.

You struggled to beat a Lions side without those players just mentioned plus McDonald with Aka still not fully fit and Vossy still not fully fit. I agree with everything that acuguy has said. Not that much of a good win really. You should have won by a lot more. We were all expecting you to. I don't think one Lions fan expected a win. All we were after was a pretty good fight and we did it well. And it was not to the aid of the umpires but to truly good football. The best performance we have displayed in 2 months even though it was a loss.

That is not nice. Especially coming from someone who is meant to be a true supporter. Wishing bad **** on umpires of all people is just truly gutless. Utterly pathetic really. You won, get over it. Why do Port Power people have to find stuff to complain about after a win?

Yet again you won, so calm down a bit.

I would say something bad, but it would mean I would get in trouble for it.

Two morons don't make a right (to badly paraphrase a cliche).

Full strength Port side???

The marijuana must be cheap and effective up your way.

oh well, i guess we will all have to wait till the end of the season when the power shut downs again. Obviously there is an annual power shortage come september. bunch of pretenders.

I used to think that SpecialBruce made clear, valid comments. Then he started this ridiculous thread that Brown was in someway as good as Tredrea and now he is defending a bad loser. Note that I did not disagree, we should have won by more but that is not the point. The point is that acuguy felt that some kind of parting shot was necessary, when despite your injuries we have been the team up against the wall for the whole year. And even you would have to admit you got the run of the umpires last night. They could have cost us the game, what about that free to Lynch when Paxman "pulled" him down in the square; or McRae's mark that he scored a goal from in the 1st quarter, which was in his arms for a full 10th of a second?

And now he is hoping we won't win in the finals. Real football supporters hope for their own team to win, not another team to lose. Acuguy is a pathetic little whinger.

Surely you must be concerned at your lack of intelligence when Port were missing Burgoyne, Francou, Kingsley, Hardwick and Wilson from its FIRST 18 and also lost Wakelin and Cochrane during the first half.

But dont let that get in the way of the fact that your a brainless moron will you!!

I thought you were leaving this board? Isnt it about time you fully ****ed off?

Yet Port were also missing Francou, P Burgoyne, Kingsley, Hardwick and Wilson from its starting 18 and also lost our no.1 defender and Cochrane during the night. Plus K Cornes wasnt fully fit, nor is Dew. But dont let that fact that we were missing just as many players out of our best side get in the way will you!

But of course, everyone harps on Brisbanes outs and forgets that Port had 5 starting 18 players out and lost another 2 during the night. Typical tho. Had the umpires not gifted you 5 first half goals then we woulda won by a lot more.

That is not nice. Especially coming from someone who is meant to be a true supporter. Wishing bad **** on umpires of all people is just truly gutless. Utterly pathetic really. You won, get over it. Why do Port Power people have to find stuff to complain about after a win?

Good. Now that your finished you can bugger off for good now cant you!!

They're all not 2 time premiership players.

stupid point but not unexpected from you.

Francou and Burgoyne are two of the best players in the competition. The other 3 are 3 of our 4 first choice small defenders. Wakelin our no.1 defender. Cochrane our no.1 tagger.

Who cares if they arent 2 time premiership players....by that line of thinking, Bob SKilton is a grade a hack because he never won a premiership

Those players are all starting 18 players in the best team in the AFL. Speaks for itself doesnt it!
