Drop McCarthy instead. If you can't pass the ball you are a waste of space. Cost us the game.
Well regarding the pass to Menzel, McCarthy was in the pocket and he may have missed it. You can't guarantee that the turn over ruined a certain goal.
But Motlop, he cost us a goal directly in front.
And McCarthy is crucial in the 3rd quarter. Motlop? Except for the last goal that brought us 9 points lead, did he have a impact on the game?

Looks like he thinks his s**t don't stink, is not doing the simple things or putting in the hard work.... but he wasn't alone tonight.

Are you serious? You can't count on one hand how many Geelong players didn't make comical errors tonight but at least he had a crack. Motlop is far from doing enough to retain his spot in the side.
He simply can't pass. Always turns it over when he is trying to pass. Has done it all season. You just haven't noticed it as he usually doesn't get the ball as much as he did tonight.

I can guarantee you the lazy pea hearted turd didn't raise a sweat tonight. In a game that was on the line from the first minute that is a bloody disgrace. Needs to be dropped and made earn his way back in. Just not interested at all. Bloody disgusting and not worthy of the jumper.

He's a selfish prick, I swear he's upset about us getting Dangerfield, he wants it all to be about him. Trade bait if he's worth anything anymore.
Was thinking this myself. Spent the whole night tonight standing still not chasing, and sooking when nobody gave him the ball.

agree with the first post, but not the 2nd.

McCarthy did some great things tonight, but also made some absolute howlers.

Motlop's passing is the least of his worries though; usually finds a target when he has time.

As for Motlop's overall game; no, not good at all.

Disgraceful campaigner. Specialises in the hospital pass - not only is it usually ineffective - that loopy, cute style of disposal looks so put of place in our side.

Lang or Cockatoo ready after the bye to come in for him. Give him a fortnight at the least.

He lost me in the 2nd 1/4 when the Saints got a clearance and ball left the middle on the far side of the square.

On the ower part of the camera shot is #32 walking, arms swinging like its a Sunday on Chapel st as he strolls thru the centre.

At least jog. Fake some effort. Do something.

And it went downhill from there IMO.

Not the best effort going into a bye that will get rehashed for 2 weeks.

Doctor Gero funnily enough I was going to start a Motlop thread but you beat me to it. I was told throughout the whole pre-season that he's not over weight and that he'll be ready for round 1. It's round 14 and he's still playing like crap. I'm just over the bloke. He needs to start putting in the effort required of an AFL footballer or else we should look to trade him at the end of the season IMO.

I'd even consider dropping him after the bye as a bit of a wake up call to see if it has any impact because ATM he's giving us nothing. We may as well be playing somebody like Lang who will at least pay off in the long term...

Where were you when he kicked 8 goals in two weeks against top eight sides?
