Still keeping Broughton
May I please ask you why? Would love some reasons to save me a trade!
Well there's one reason, save the trade (I'm using mine to pick up prem rookies). Also its still early days, he could be one of those players you regret dropping.
Well I'll be trading Broughton in in round 6 so... you guys all go drop him and save yourself losing a theoretical 80-100k, I'll be content when I pick up one of the year end top 7 defenders for a nice price.
If I was confident he'd be a year end top 7 (or even top 10) defender, I would never even consider trading him out. It's silly to waste a trade on what is presumably a keeper, if they are not injured.
I've watched both Dockers games though and the signs aren't there for a good DT scorer. Playing fairly outside, playing stints on the wing, and the scores are still below par. I'm not sure if he has much of an upside left in him.
Then why did you pick him in the first place? This is exactly how he has always played and will always play.
This.
Backmen are simply not consistent. If you trade out a player that scores rubbish the first 2 games for a player that scores well the first two, it's like chasing your losses at the casino. There is a chance it'll pay off, but there is also a big chance that player will spud it up while the likes of broughton/shaw dominate and you'll double your loss and have wasted trades. Spesh with backmen, it's all about the total at the end, not the week-to-week scores.
I'm sticking with him.
yeah ive changed my mind, but only because i want to sideways trade the best 2 cash cows into my side for underperforming cash cows. Still very much regretting at this point not taking Birchall over Broughton, but thats the brakes. I reckon choosing the best backline players each year is the hardest part of dream team, and every year i **** it upMy thinking is that I will get a cash cow now, and used to saved cash to get a more premium player. Once the cash cows plump up a bit, I'll be looking to find the best player I can afford. Not a straight sideways swap, But hoping to cash up so I can use less trades in the upgrade process.
