Did he really pause a career in medicine to give football a go? Wowsers

Irish medical system pays a fair bit less than what junior docs here in Australia get though, and working conditions far worse (based on what my Irish colleague tell me anyway). Horror stories about how they would have to manage a busy ED with only a few cubicles as a second year resident and the consultant (specialist) being unapproachable...

He looked pretty uncomfortable hobbling on that sore pin. Made me wince to see him take a couple of stairs.

He explained it was a tear, not a strain (so not 3 weeks) but even so he was positive because he doesnt have a history of soft tissue injuries. Actually, had never had a strain before, which I figurE has got to count for something.

Wishing him all the best.

Could he get credit transfers to continue in Australia? Or would he have to start from scratch?
Sounds a lot like Randall Bone from Adelaide in the 90's who was studying medicine whilst playing. I think he was the one who first treated Ryan Burton, when he had his leg injury.

Are you serious?

What basis do you have for posting this?

From a credible source:
Yes I'm serious!
Why don't you look at my history of what I've reported on in the past and then tell me my posts aren't credible.
3 weeks, take it or leave it, I couldn't care less

Randall Bone?????? I think it may have been Matthew Liptak.

Well, I've got no timeframe (didn't ask) but I do have a quote.

"Did you do your hammy?"

"Yeah, no big deal."

We then went on to talk about rugby. It was well past halfway in the night so maybe he was tired on talking about his injury. Dunno.

Put me squarely on the fence: undecided and ill informed.

Can be hard as many Australian medical courses (all those in vic I think) are post graduate, I'm unsure if Irish is undergraduate

I asked him who his favourite ruler was. He said "Richard the Turd."
I thought, can't have been much of a favourite then.
