Mainly here so we can enjoy the LOLs afterwards at the end of 2023, but also an interesting discussion point.

I’m in genuine two minds and can’t call it, but who do you see finishing higher in 2023?

Who is positioned better from a list/team perspective?

Let the games begin…

Mod Note: This is a thread for BANTER and giving and taking a bit of the mickey. Enter at your own risk!
However this does NOT mean name calling, personal abuse, injury trolling, swearing or gifs/memes with swear words in them. Keep it clean and above the belt.
Thank you.

Motlop comes in for Durdin in a heartbeat. Our weakest link atm.
Perhaps.

My point is Durdin has provided similar output (10 touches, 4tackles, 1 goal per game, albeit being more wasteful in front of goal) to what Motlop has produced and is also a kid with u50 games who I assume Carlton fans believe has some upside.

You aint replacing a Durdin with a 40 goal proven quality small, it is a kid for a kid.

We know that mate hoping they both go on with it, Haywood from Sydney would be a good get as i think E Hollands is more an inside mid type than a forward

Durdin gets his goals simply by being ignored by his opponent for the most part while motlop is capable of getting front and centre and snapping an opportunistic goal.

The flow on effect is the opposition have to put more time into him and cant come off to help each other out, lever alternated between owies and durdin and left them at will because neither are dangerous on the ground.

So both teams have got their 16 flags along with that other dirty mob.

So how do separate them over the course of the competition? What's the next best metric?

Is it:

  • GF's played? If so tick to the Pies.
  • Finals won? If so tick to the Pies.
  • What about finals played? If so tick to the Pies.

Source AFL tables.

Whichever way you boil it down and dissect, Pies are king of the heap over the course of the competition.

Floreat Pica!

Who will be better in 2024, who knows?

Wins over each other in grand finals suits my narrative
Your points listed suits your narrative.

Na Carlton fans assume everyone clearly has anti-Carlton bias.

The reality is people actually pity Carlton, it is sad seeing a once proud club no longer be an on-field rival.

Imagine if North has another 15-20 years of their current output...that is 21st century Carlton.
Your interest in Carlton is soaked in fear.

“ no longer be an on-field rival”

Sure mate.

If we come up against you in the GF this year you’ll be trembling like the little poodle you carry around with you - even with the little knitted top you made her…
