Mainly here so we can enjoy the LOLs afterwards at the end of 2023, but also an interesting discussion point.

I’m in genuine two minds and can’t call it, but who do you see finishing higher in 2023?

Who is positioned better from a list/team perspective?

Let the games begin…

Mod Note: This is a thread for BANTER and giving and taking a bit of the mickey. Enter at your own risk!
However this does NOT mean name calling, personal abuse, injury trolling, swearing or gifs/memes with swear words in them. Keep it clean and above the belt.
Thank you.

Have you checked the Pies record before the turn of the century, obviously not.
Another Carlton fan talking about last century...rinse and repeat.

Newsflash, we are into our 24th season of the 21st century.

We all know that Carlton are yet to manage a top4 finish in the 21st century, so understand why Baggers continue to look backwards...perhaps start a thread on the Carlton board where crusty Baggers can tell stories about how good Jezza was and what it was like to support a team who wasnt an easy beat most years.

Analysis completed.

Excluding war time, Collingwood have had 12 x Bottom 4 finishes in their history. That includes eras when there were only 10 and 12 teams in the competition.

Since the turn of the century, when there have been minimum 16 teams in the competition, Carlton have had 9 x bottom 4 finishes.

Wowee.
No mention of Carltons 6 VFA flags there mate? Takes us to 22 and Pies 17.

H&A references - teh competition is not a H&A competition why are you wasting bandwidth on irrelevancies? Spare a thought for climate change and the whales for goodness sake!

See you deviated from my timeline again, don't you like it when someone picks a timeline that suits them?
And I didn't deviate from your timeline.

You asked about Collingwood's record before the turn of the century, and I responded that we had averaged 1 Grand Final appearance every 3 seasons, similar to our record since the turn of the century.

That's what happens when a team is a Powerhouse and perennial contender, not one that spends multiple decades at a time in rebuild mode.

How is the 24th season of this century going so far mate? Looks like Pies sit at 10th on the ladder, only eight teams below you.

This is a very fine observation so early on a Sunday morning - probably wasted on the Collingwodo posters whoa re ( no doubt) recovering from a night on cheap flagon port.

As soon as the salary cap came in the Blues tried to rort it. And when they got caught they spiralled out of control. Blues bought premierships in the 80s and 90s which is just blatant cheating. They cannot do anything when the playing field was evened. So when Blues supporters go on about last century it seems they just go on about rorting the system.
