Their As and Full strength team flogged us around in the warm ups. Bazball style
...stuffed up the declaration, didn't win. Yep, checks out.

Both teams in the Aus v Eng-A match scored at a run rate of 4.8, one team just did it when conditions were harder to bat. And probably fair to say Jess Jonassen was flogging the full-strength English team around with her 173*. Might be enough to get her selected in the full-strength Australian team.

Even though the weather forecast looks decent, and they're playing 5 days now, it'll all count for nothing if it's on a pitch similar to the warm-ups (and the last 3 drawn Tests between the 2 teams).

Thanks for putting up this Gough as we cant neglect our girls. We have a terrific Test record against the Poms.

Teen Phoebe Litchfield is a huge prospect. Tahlia McGrath is now one of our most consistent all rounders while everyone's favorite Ellyse Perry is, simply, a CHAMPION. We will miss the strong leadership of Meg Lanning tho.

Surprised to note 4 of the last 6 tests between the two sides have ended in draws.
4 day games most likely did not help.In all 4 days I have often thought they should look at if a side is not all out after 120 overs in the 1st innings it should be a compulsory closure. This being women and mens cricket.

I only noticed through looking at past game it was a 4 day test match. Im not sure if Women given how much ratio of white ball matches: red ball matches, know how to 'grind ' innings . Ill be interested to see the style of game played over the first couple of days of this test match.

With my comments about 4 day games compulsory closure 1st innings both sides it depends a lot on the wickets of cause.I
The problem with that idea, is it almost becomes an ODI within a Test match.

And looking at the last three test matches between the teams, it was a single test match was squeezed in between a T20 series and ODI series. Under a points based format , for the overall series, there would be no incentive for the team to declare , especially for the team leading the points based system.

This Ashes to be played over five days, first time the English Dukes will be used and a Tier One ground will be the venue. Female Test cricket is on the up.

Aussies win toss and batting. Litchfield and Garth to debut.
