Keeping Grundy when you have 1 functioning forward rather than spending the money where you need it is crazy list management. There are a lot of potentials who would come for the chance of success. already mcadam seems
To be Dee bound and Chol would be exactly the right fit as he can play forward and second ruck.
We don’t need to lose Grundy to bring them in.
If he wants to come here we will give you a suitable deal we are more than far and dont waste time playing games.
Expect it to be done 1st or second day if he nominates us.

Pick 22 seems fair. Maybe a pick swap in our favour (34 for 41 or 47... something insignificant like that).

The contract Grundy is on is not having the upper hand.
Grundy is at Melbourne next year then Melbourne are eating a multi million dollar mistake.
Port and Sydney can find another ruck.

What money will he be paid?
It’s around 650k a year after Collingwood pay him. The CBA is about to have a handy increase for players so they wage isn’t a big deal. The 4 years aren’t great but he could easily play at the top level that long.
He was AA the year he signed the deal.

22 for Grundy will tie it up nicely, Melbourne's cap gains space, Sydney get Grundy, Melbourne can forward the pick for Chol from GC potentially.

I think they can get Chol a bit cheaper but agree the Grundy to Sydney deal works for all parties
