I can't find anything credible about Butler being a source for the ESPN article on Brady & Belichick. Ignore what I wrote.

Still, it seems weird that for the biggest game of the year, you bench a starter who has played almost 98% of the snaps on defence for a back-up who wasn't even aware he would be a starter until the night before the game.

Come on aus, even you can tell that is simply Tommy Salt storming off to the lockerroom and Ertz bumping into him on his way.

I read different rumours of "missed team flight" and "weed" but ould find nothing to substantiate the claims.

Cassius_Clay would be in heaven right now
:) Magnificent bastard.
The touch on his throws this playoff series were unreal. RPOs got him going but then he just turned elite and made every throw possible. What he did, especially the last 2 games were a thing of beauty.

But Pederson deserves a ton of credit. Gave him the confidence to go out there and do his thing. Not to mention the play calling was on point.

It also shows how important it is to have a quality NFL backup.

Such an excellent point

I’ve always scoffed at teams spending decent money on a back up

A lot of teams would love an NFL quality starter

And so you should.

Easy to spend money on a backup when you have a cheap starter.

Nigh on impossible when you have a qb eating 15-20% of the salary cap.

I've just finished watching this again tonight over a few (read: a lot) of beers.

A couple of observations:
- this game is much more enjoyable when you know the result!
- you can't overstate the importance of the "Philly special" TD before HT. Knowing that the Pats specialise in those TDs in the last 2 minutes of the first half, which they back up in the 2nd half when they get the ball first, it was a huge call to go for it on the 4th down, and the play call was ballsy as *.
- you also can't overstate the ballsiness of going for it on 4th and 1 in our own half with about 5 minutes to go in the game. That was a huge call, made even "huger" by the fact we went with a pass play.
- Foles was obviously the right choice for MVP - but I hope the voters at least thought about Corey Clement. He was huge in this game - he wasn't that active in the run game, but had one really important run, then he was critical in the pass game and in his blocking. For an undrafted rookie, that was a star-making performance.

I can't help coming away from watching the first half thinking the Patriots were lucky to be that close really. Brady had 2-3 passes that easily could have been picked. Meanwhile the play that the Pats intercepted really should have been a deep completion to Jeffrey that would have put us first and goal to take a three TD lead.

Foles was clear MVP for the Eagles -- from the skills positions. Tho a number of receivers caught so many clutch catches, not just the situations (3rd down) but also with guys draped on them, or at difficult body/arm angles. But Foles was clearly the best given the great accuracy and clutch-factor he displayed thruout the game. I thought Brady performed less than Foles did...especially in the first half, so many errant throws by him, tho he made up for it in the 2nd half. But you can't just go by the stats and say Brady ought to have won MVP -- especially when Foles played lights out. Maybe if Foles didn't play so well, then sure Brady would've had a stronger case as MVP.

Where is best place to buy superbowl gear? Tried Fanatics but costs $25 for delivery! Unless someone knows how to get rid of the delivery fee?
NFLshop is the best place.

You will just have to put up with the shipping fee
