First we pick Siddle and Marsh, and then Paine tells them we're having a bowl. Just dumbfounding. Did Paine not trust his openers to get through a session?

This pitch will be a belter to bat on after lunch and England should be looking at 400 plus.
Well, no. Australia hasn't managed a five over opening stand; a two hour one is pushing the boat out a little, even on the best batting deck in England.

And this session is exactly why people calling for us to be conservative in the last Test were so incredibly wrong.

This is flat deck and no way the same as last test, insane we decided to bowl first.
That's the point, though. As I said in the last Test, all it took was a horror toss to potentially cost us the series if we didn't try to win last match as compared to simply not trying to lose like some suggested.

Ironically, it seems we won the horror toss.
