Questions need to be asked as to why they even played him in the Bombers game. Seems like a silly decision in hindsight.

I was surprised to see him play given he had a fitness test after the warm-up.

Given his start to the year, I thought they would've withdrawn him at the slightest sign of a niggle.

That said he looked comfortable after the game so perhaps caution reigned supreme eventually.

We all know what they say about hindsight, though. It's a Richmond premiership year.

Which tells you everything you need to know about how helpful it is now in evaluating the decision made before the game on Friday to let Jez trust his instincts and play.

Tom Morris said Jezza told reporters outside the place where he went for a scan that he'll miss a few weeks. I have yet to see an official notice from the club about it so I'll wait until then. I know he passed the fitness test but that doesn't mean it was a good decision on the night.

He set up the win.
He declared himself fit-experienced enough to know the ramifications.
He pulled himself off when the tightness increased.

“He pulled himself off when the tightness increased”.

We’ve all been there - but perhaps he was best to do that in the privacy of his own home?

My Dad made the observation that he appeared to have enough about him to decide that if he was out there, he was going to make absolutely sure that he made a contribution. Having played almost a solo role in getting us up and about on the scoreboard (and back in the game), he discerned that it wasn't coming good and got himself off the ground. Basically as soon as we'd hit the front.

Seems like he was doing the team thing, first and foremost. Yet another reason why I'm more than comfortable to back him and the medicos both for Friday and into the future.

You live, you learn.

At least it wasn’t the other Tom, I.e., Brown, who made this report

I might have to ask Tom for his time machine since Jezza isn't due a scan until tomorrow...

The following doesn't help to dispell the idea that Kreuger is somewhat injury prone

UP to six Cats could return to football this weekend as Geelong's injury list takes a step in the right direction despite losing spearhead Jeremy Cameron to a hamstring strain.

Sam Simpson
could be back on the park after straining his hamstring in Round 8 against Richmond and then tweaking his quad during training.
"Sammy Simpson has built a body of work, he’s completing full sessions and is likely available this week," GM of Football Simon Lloyd says.
All three omissions from last week's side will raise their hands to reclaim their places in the side at this week's selection table.

"The three players who didn’t play last week in Shaun Higgins, Esava Ratugolea and Mark O’Connor – they’ll all be available for selection this week," Lloyd says.

Speedster Jordan Clark has made quick work of his shoulder rehab.
"Jordan suffered an AC joint injury in the VFL game against the Brisbane Lions where he was playing a really solid game as an inside mid and winger," Lloyd says.
"He’s completed all his return to contact and has had a positive rehab and training block so hopefully he’ll return this weekend."

Rhys Stanley should have no issues after heading to the rooms during Friday's win over the Bombers.
"Rhys came off during the game after a contact injury and was able to return to play. He finished out the game strongly in the ruck," Lloyd says.
"We were really pleased he was able to get through and he appears to have pulled up well.
"We’d expect him to be available to play this week."

Uncapped duo Cameron Taheny and Nathan Kreuger should both also play this week.
"Cam Taheny returned last week, playing in the VFL against the Bombers," Lloyd says.
"We were pleased with his run, he spent a lot of time on the wing and ran really well in his return. He got through unscathed so that was positive.
"Nathan Kreuger injured his ankle when doing extras in training last week. He’ll be a test on Thursday this week, so he’ll go close to playing."

Thought Clark was gone for the season.

Hope its sorted finally. I'd hate to see him end up like Smedts with adolescent shoulders.
It's hard to believe that it would be 100%. He may be realising that its now or never in terms of trying to earn back a spot in the seniors in 2021. But yeah, you just hope he doesn't do further damage if he plays.

While that seems positive, the worrying news is that according to today's AFL injury report, Mitch Duncan is still potentially 8 weeks away.

He makes a massive, massive difference to how the ball is delivered to our fowards. Will be very tough to win a flag without him.
That list is very unreliable. Fingers crossed it’s more toward the six end than the eight.

Yep, he is one of few that has dash AND can kick accurately and intelligently. If we had anybody, not currently injured, who had those qualities it would be nice to give them a run to see if they could fill that role. Defensive accountability would be a bonus.

What on God's green earth would make you think we want to know anything about that.
I don't think you're thinking what I'm thinking.

Mind out of the gutter please. 🤣🤣
