Why would he bother when we won't play him and why would we bother for the same reason? I'm not sure Dow has any reason to feel indebted to us anymore.

Anyway, putting players on the rookie list is just about managing list numbers these days. Pay is the same as being on the main list. We have plenty of list spots so don't really have a need to do that.
Obviously has got another club lined up, we’ve royally ****ed him and ourselves over with overall trade movement…
Or actually keeping him…

Jonas, Port Adelaide’s captain can’t get back in the team due to selection integrity & look at how that teams going at the moment. Carlton has had poor selection integrity all year and look at where we are now. Doesn’t seem to matter what the guys do in the 2’s to put their best foot forward, Voss plays favourites.

To still play Ed when we are out of the finals race is just bizarre , 2 weeks ago Binns and Hewett were 1st and 2nd in the best for the VFL. Ed didn’t play, the last time he did play was 3 weeks ago against Essendon where he got 13 disposals and zero tackles. He doesn’t have enough point on the board anymore to deserve an automatic inclusion.

Dow is 10 years younger and a better player than Ed , WTF has he done to be left out again because he couldn't do
any more in his sub and VFL roles......... He is a young, quick and smart AFL level on baller that knows how to find the pill.

I am not saying he is the next C. Judd, just that he deserves to be selected. I don't think
anybody can argue with that. He is better than Ed.

It is very disappointing for the player and supporters IMO that he is being overlooked again.
He adds to the team , Ed does not

And then Hewy, last season he was bordering on being A grade and averaging bout 30 a game, I know this season has been
tough for him but whatever, he is also ahead of Ed.

The selections for this game are beyond my comprehension. But watch us lose this game and all our weaknesses targeted by Sam Mitchell. He will show us exactly what Voss cannot do.
yep, the coach who's won them all of 4 games this year.

He's proven nothing so far.

8 last year, with a better list...

Really, Voss has done more....

That said, thoroughly agree on the bizarro selections!

The Ed selection makes absolutely no sense, particularly given that both Hewett & Binns are named on the extended Bench.

If Hewett is fully fit then he should be in the 22. If he’s not fit then he shouldn’t even be named.

So basically the MC is rating Ed ahead of George which is ridiculous.

The Binns non selection is a whole other discussion.

We're shallow through midfield, the coaches don't rate Dow & with Hewett down on form, it makes sense why Ed gets games.
Hopefully the LM team can address this.
Sorry it makes absolutely zero sense how Ed Curnow is getting a game at 34 when we are bottom 4, focus should be finding players for the future.
Dow & Hewett are along way in front of Ed.

It is hardly the point, it is about rewarding consistent performances and looking ahead to next year, both Binns & Dow have been by far our best performers, continuing to play Ed Curnow is just plain ridiculous & continuing to play JSos as a 2nd ruck which everyone knows he is just not up to it.

I thought he was being a troll but he simply does not get it.

It makes perfect sense.
Dow has clearly has had his cards marked & isn't part of our plans.
Hewett is down on form & is potentially carrying an injury.
Your line of reasoning would make sense if it were advocating for someone like Carroll..

Curnow is neither part of our future plans and is also way down on any decent form hes shown in his career.

Au contraire.

Voss has repeatedly said like for like...

That is Binns. Who's in terrific form.

We all clearly know Dow has his papers stamped, but the coach & MC need to be called out on this, it is totally wrong to take this stance.
Again Ed Curnow selection is wrong he is 34 and applying your logic will he there next year, no he won't.

Hewett was second best on ground in the VFL with 26 disposals and 9 tackles. How does it make perfect sense.
Dow probably has a better chance at being at Carlton next year than Voss at this point

Ed is selected due to the absence of a meaningful alternative, which I've already stated.

How does it make sense that the player that's down on form isn't an autoselection?
Don't like Ed being the break glass in case of emergency option? Find better options, which was my point.

Agree with this. E.g Matt Kennedy re signing video 2022 Voss said "you can only play inside mid and we only have two slots".

2023 Voss selects Matt Kennedy at HBF and then surprise surprise he is in and out of the side until he gets back in the middle.

As per Ross Lyon "you demonstrate integrity at selection"
