Player Watch #9: Trent Cotchin is an obscenely good 3 x Premiership Captain, Victorian Captain & Brownlow Medalist

So people still writing him off after yesterday's great game?

For me, Jake Aarts is more a worry than Trent Cotchin

That’s the point my opinion was made by taking the emotion out… yours unfortunately isn’t.
He’s not injured- he’s finished.

He played a ripper on the weekend - injured, this is why our members, including you, need to stop being so emotional and reactive to a few bad games after a body of 15 years of exceptional performances.

He’s third quarter was good. But unfortunately he’s not damaging and he’s possessions don’t really go anywhere.
Dion played a much better game.

Champion.

Continues to give it his 100% every game.

Legend of our football club.
No ones Is saying he doesn't just! some are saying his brain tells him to do things that his body can't anymore. Then again the team has been so poor this year it's hard to judge most of them. Even Dusty 3 games before his injury were poor.

Taking a stab at No. 9 is carrying lower leg injuries that are affecting his run and kick. That forced masking smile we see has an underlying reason.
A longer off season will only benefit our banged up boys. Medical and coaching staff need to get to work now for season 22. This should have started weeks ago.

Can't complain about Cotchin after last night. Got plenty of the ball and used it ok considering the pressure we were under. In a full strength midfield is still a player although he needs to take his time up forward so that our new mids can get some game time, if he goes on next year.

Our structure has been worked it and now see’s our midfield competing 4 v 6 , being exposed . Take a look at our wingers starting positions at centre clearances and then take a look at the way opposition have altered the way they move from the stoppage this year v previous years .

4 vs 6? Humm thought all teams were even lol. We have not been any good even in the premierships at midfield. Yes, rules changed but your still man on man if anything our game should have been adjusted which we didn't do as we knew we concede midfield anyway. Our really bad form started once we lost our backman where in the past we lost players to injury eg 19 but none were defenders. Ash vlastin Houli Broad Balta that's 5 of our core defenders. We get all of them back apart houli who should retire fit over summer and recruit a couple of decent mids we can romp the flag next season. We have the players we just need to keep them on the field.

2 wingers consistently play on the defensive corner of the square , whilst the oppo wingers stay central = 4 v 6 . Sides (us) affectively starting wingers defensively is the reason Hocking bought in the 6,6,6 rule .

Both are champions of this club and deserve to go around again next year.
cotch has played around 70% match time most of the year....this is not right as most week 20 of our boys are playing more....been managed but can't afford to rest up properly, goes on his left too often and can't kick over 45m anymore.

not sure whats goin on but astbury, cotch, lambert, vlossy, houli, dusty, shedda, lynch, JR, nank all looked half cooked at various stages probably playing when under duress. and of course bash and dusty had multiple bang ups.... be interesting if surgery is gunna explain a few things otherwise we might see a couple calling retirement.
