Most shocking thing about the Bulldog’s changes is the fact that Lin Jong still exists.

Had a feeling someone would pop up with this crap. Amongst those 5, on par with Martin for efficiency and only below the Bont.

That issue is well overrated. Although, sometimes he does remind me of Marinoff where he had much more time and could have looked and steadied before delivering but is going a million miles an hour and pumps forward missing better options.

Absolutely :) Grabbed my tickets early, looks to be sold out now?

Taking the 3 kids up, giving the Mrs a whole day of peace!

My two adult kids are jumping to see the boys live, youngest is only 9 and this will be her first live Crows game??? I feel like a bad parent, although we have been in Tassie for 8 years with little chance to see them in the flesh.

I'm hoping that we get to see a new name or two, fingers crossed we don't play injured players in round 6 and maybe we get a surprise inclusion (not holding my breath) :-|

Maybe I could be one of those fans that gets close to a camera and just screams comments all day?

'Cmon Fogarty, you are supposed to be playing Sloane's role!'

'Fogarty! You are ruining our structures!'

'Fogarty, we are going to trade you at the end of the year you lazy fat stupid non-AFL standard hack'

Or maybe I get lucky and Jones plays, I can come up with a dozen zingers about how we are not going to honour his contract because he is useless and we are wasting s list spot on him.

Stuff like that?

Perfect!

Keays is having a super year but kicking is not his strong suit. Efficiency stats don't prove anything. Kelly is a good kick according to efficiency stats, but do you think that is the case when you have watched him over the years?

They have depth because they've been building a side for 5 years. We don't because we've started rebuilding and have cut all that depth we previously had. Do you think it's a good thing they brought in Jordon Sweet, let him debut, have him play well and then drop him after 1 career game? Lewis Young hasn't done a thing wrong and he gets dropped after 2 games. Lipinski plays well when selected but has now been dropped twice this year. Bevo makes changes for the sake of making changes, which is not something we should be doing with the majority of our players who are young and inexperienced.

The important thing with guys like Sholl, Hamill, Schoenberg etc, we gave them a shot abd we backed them in from there. That is the important thing we do with the players we select and I have no doubt it's what we'll do when we select Worrell, Pedlar and Thilthorpe.

I wouldn't mind going back and seeing the views on our ruck depth prior to Sauce getting injured. I remember arguing against the many that had him on the delist pile as he was OOC end of year. You said we had no depth, you don't know if we do or don't. Is Worrell good depth? Hately, Pedlar, Berg, TT? Even Davis was no worse than the regulars in the 2 games he'd played. Our depth was shit last year according to many as well. Until we were forced to play Sholl, McPherson and Hamill. None were ready according to the usual selection apologists right up until they magically were.

The Dogs have depth because they play their kids when required and know what they've got. We don't, we play jogging Lynch or clearly under duress Tex/Sloane and Talia with his torn meniscus instead of Butts or McAsey. McAsey might have looked a lot better late last year with a significantly better performing midfield. He might be good depth too.

Except we have players performing better in reserves than some of the players at AFL level.

So yes we can absolutely make unforced changes.
oh yeah, is that right?..

exactly which players are these that you are referring to here Vhaluus?.. do tell

Worrell should have found a spot last week. Could argue Newchurch, he's had some good weeks. Could argue Himmelberg and Thilthorpe by framing it around the certain player carrying the Wright legacy of being a non-statistical footballer. Hately is another, though I would have rather seen him back up his west performance before stepping up, but he should have been selected for a clearly injured Lynch. Could take a real long term view and get Pedlar in for a while, though I expect he needs 2-3 more weeks in the SANFL until he's ready.

There are certainly options, as much as our injury list is really taking a toll.

Don't forget "Fogarty, you might be a better forward than Lockett but you're no midfielder"

But BACCS, you are not trying to say he is as good a kick as Martin in any way right? Or that he is within a bulls roar of the Bont.

He is what he is, I love what he has delivered. His disposal is his weak spot, we can live with that.

And I'm not sure some realise what an inside mids role is and the pressure they're generally under when kicking....I might also add Bontompelli and Martin currently aren't playing as many minutes on ball as Keays and Laird, both the Bont and Martin spend a fair amount of time up forward.

Lipinski who Hamish fancied big time before Simon Dalrymple swooped earlier than expected and pinched him looked a class above hey. Did he miss a target all night?

Out of contract season's end too.

35 disposals, 17 kicks, 18 handballs, 6 marks, 4 tackles and a goal.

Yet some would have you think he's not worthy to tie McAsey's shoes.

its all well and good for those here to be squealing about Freo and the doggies making wholesale changes even after they have won.. but thats completely ignoring the fact that those teams have had guys in the seconds actually showing something and pushing for selection.

about the only lad we have had pushing for a spot is Worrell and he shouldve been given a run weeks ago when brown and kelly were both out.

Thilthorpe and himmelberg simply havent been good enough for a call up.

Hately hasnt exactly been lighting it up but looks likely to get a call up due to berry‘s misfortune

pedlar and cook have shown promise but clearly arent match fit and ready to run out a full game yet..

seriously, sure, you make changes to a winning side if you have blokes in the winning side not performing and blokes in your seconds deserving a call up.. you dont if the players in your seconds are dishing up dogshit or clearly not match fit.

the hysterics in here over himmelberg not getting his spot back from frampton have gone beyond ridiculous.. himmelberg had his first decent game last weekend... before that he was barely worthy of holding his spot in the sanfl side..

a few of the posters in here are pointing at the dogs and freo making changes and melting down over it like we have half a dozen players in the sanfl having blinders each week!.. if you'd actually watched the sanfl games you see that this is definately not the case.

Plenty of our kids have shown flashes of their potential.

Posts like this clearly show a lack of understanding of the fact that not many young players are going to dominate reserves games surrounded by a bunch of ring ins, AFL retirees and other kids around them getting pantsed week in week out.

Western bulldogs making 4 unforced changes to a winning team. Continuity is clearly the key to winning...

Those changes involve Vandemeer, Jong and Cordy coming back from injury, Daniel back from suspension, and a 34 year old Martin back from his RDO. It's not exactly a "play the kids" mantra.
