No, Doedee defensive skills are far, far, far superior to Frampton's. Billy doesn't know how to position himself & is a weak spoiler.

The issue is the dude should not be playing as a key defender.

I was talking specifically about one on one defending, Doedee is terrible at it. His intercept ability and spoiling coming in as a 3rd man are obviously superior. Frampton has better skills than Doedee and would work better in a team that could cover his defensive weaknesses (which are to be expected given he’s only trained one pre season as a defender).

He is not a key defender though, does not help our ability against the Lions talls whatsoever. Why do people keep bringing up Worrell like he adds anything different? McAsey is the obvious option to be our future CHB, but needs to show a lot more at sanfl level.

Doedee is a good 1 on 1 defender... except when on a key forward who is much bigger than him.

Frampaton can't defend against forwards who are smaller than him, as his body positioning is terrible & he is a poor spoiler... things Doedee is competent at.

I think he's only been blasted when he's made to play as a KPD conceding height.

Against medium players I think he's quite a reasonable defender and has great positioning and spoiling
