Frampton and Berry to come out I reckon. Berg named in the team is a pretty good sign. Reckon fog will stay in the SANFL. Lynch, Walker, Berg and Macpherson as medi sub for Doedee, Davis, Frampton and Berry.

It's concerning that our answer to big failures is always to add comfortable, known experience (no matter how mediocre) rather than trying something new or different with any sort of potential.

I mean did our coaches really see our forward line/entire side last week and think the answer was to bring in Lynch and Himmelberg? Like was that the problem? We didn't have Himmelberg up forward...?
Not much else to bring in midfield wise.

A better option is to stick Sloane up forward, if he must play, and have Schoenberg, Berry, McHenry and Pedlar play more midfield minutes.

Schoenberg and Berry much more composed than Sloane and Keays. Better I50s

Hey take off your cranky pants
There has been changes in selection over this season
How is the new Bully Dog going ?
Xx

There's not been any changes. Apart from SANFL tune ups after injury for experienced players we've selected every available senior player each week regardless of form or injury. That's no different how Pyke and his crew selected. Little Jevin is great, growing rapidly, he's a very affectionate little man. Gets his 3rd shot on Monday, so we'll be able to get him out and about in a couple of weeks.

Thought that’s what we did at the start of the year - not sure why we’re doing it again with the same players.
Himmelberg looked like he turned a corner, then completely regressed once the season was done. Yet we're forcing him back in again despite his SANFL form being average at best.

Important now that our season is over that we get more experience into Lynch and don't waste those games on youngsters who could learn from them.

Also important that we waste more games on a spud like Frampton so that we get value out of his 4 year contract.

We are a very weird club with very weird ideas and priorities.

Staggered if what is being said that Lynch won’t be offered a new contract, does that not mean you are not part of our future plans, why TF is there any value in playing him🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Drugs Are Bad Mackay? called it early in the week.
I think we'll make a statement with selection this week... and drop 2-3 of our youngest players

Psychic

Good to see we're going again with the same midfield that has been getting destroyed for weeks.

That’ll show ‘em!

I’m sorry... how long?

If Tex is in there is no need for Lynch, there's also no need for Mackay to be named on the field in the wing position when we have a stack of young players lining up to get a game.
There’s room for Lynch if you simply tell Sloane to get surgery and drop Dmac. Then there’s room for Berry, Schoenberg, Pedlar, Fog, TT and Scholl from the extended bench. Hey presto, you keep a bunch of experience (look AFL, we’re not tanking, truly!), plus you get games into young guys. Then, over the last five weeks, you rotate through the rest of the young guys on the list and give them all a taste at the highest level. It’s not that hard, even if you must play Lynch…

The day we all accept that coaches pick teams to win now — not in the future — because of a win/loss culture that is very harsh on head coaches is the moment we can all come to terms with the selection shit show. Don’t forget that supporters are in it for the long haul. Coaches are purely trying to survive.

rubbish, it's about getting a win. Name the players that we need to see to make a call on? I'll add your fantasy to the list of reasons people manufacture in order to refuse to believe the obvious. Nothing has changed, Nicks is running the same philosophies that Pyke ran. He was employed by Roo, Chapman and Fagan, his philosophies had to align with theirs or he'd not gotten the job.

Yep, the faces change but the philosophy remains the same.

At least Nicks appears to have brought the playing group together, however his selections, gameplan and player roles/positioning is terrible.

Thank goodness list management cut so deep over the last couple of years.

Thank god I got locked down in Vic and cant travel to watch the game. Terrible selection again.
It's a rare effort to **** up Thursday selection for a Sunday game

Usually we sneak the bad line up news out late on Friday when fewer people notice

This.

Tex if fit is a no brainer... but with his experience there was no need to pick Lynch over Fogarty... as we are in rebuild mode, but no doubt the selectors are panicking after last week shalacking... unless they are looking to manage Thilthorpe & Fog plays I'm ok.

Berg in for Billy is a no brainer as Berg has potential to make it & we need to find out.

Disappointing Worrell or McAsey didn't get a go as perfect game with Eagles tall forwards.

Sholl gets benched (at best, maybe even dropped) for a "quiet" 15 disposal game after 20-odd touches the week prior on return from a rest and David Mackay gets rewarded with his wing back after another scintillating 14 disposal game. Really?

I am of the view this is not a winning team because of the older guys.

Sloane is a liability. Clearly playing hurt and it shows.
Lynch, unless he plays a blinder, has shown he is past it this year.
Smith, congrats on 200 games(I love the guy), but is out of form.
Dmack has played his good game for the year.

At least sanity prevailed with Brown.
