Wow, that's both factually incorrect and total blinkers thinking.

Smashed by Collingwood
Defeat Sydney (that gets a tick)
Then beat bottom sides in
Gold Coast
Carlton
Lose to Port when the midfield disappears completely for the 3rd quarter (but Pyke didn't want to make an issue of that)
Beat another bottom 8 side in the Bulldogs
Get annihilated by Melbourne.
We've gone 4-3, and have beaten 1 good side in that time, while having numerous fadeouts, even against the likes of Carlton. That ain't impressive Roo.
Yeah but the port game was a win for us if we had any one of sloane or crouch or milera or hartigan in the team..that was the perfect storm for us and port and at their best at full strength they got us in the final 20 seconds infront of their home crowd whilst we were injury riddled and had underdone players playing. So very easily we could have been 5-2

Doesn't matter. Players need to be held accountable for poor performances.
That's well and good but also need to win to do anything later in year

Dear Davis Jarman would be liabilities , remember that Poholke is way ahead of them and he's not exactly holding his spot

Mackay was poor and could get dropped IMO , our midfield looks to slow with CEY and Gibson so one of them should go preferably the later

But, we lost didn't we and that's all that counts.

We've got plenty of players who could play as well as the guys did last week.

If we don't make unforced changes it will only signify weakness from the coaching group.
Name them though , Hampton ? Wilson? ROB those maybe

The problem is Poholke is out worst player and these guys are worse than him which is pretty bad

Happy to drop mackay and Gibson

Dude, you can argue guys were missing until you're blue in the face, we came out after half time and shat the bed massively.

Only need to drop a couple of big-ish names to make the appropriate statement

Jacobs would be huge (O'Brien).

Mackay is a no brainer but in the context of the club would be huge given that he's been a regular player for a decade (Seedsman).

That's fairly painless and doesn't negatively affect our chances Sunday. Plus Hampton for one other potentially.

How is Jacobs going to impove from here? He's only going to get worse and hoping a week off in the middle of the year is going to fix him is silly.

And I don't think we're gonna do much from here, our season was stuffed as soon as the f'd up the pre-season.

Like clockwork.

It would have been better if you'd done this:

iu

Well Hamptons card must be stamped. Cant even get named in the squad after that debacle

Seems to be the case. Is now a few weeks back from injury, good reports from those watching his game in the 2’s. A clear opening (Poholke’s spot) yet not selected.

I don’t expect to see him again. Similar happened to Menzel last year, when Pykes done with a player, he’s done.

It's a tough one. I agree we needed to make a stand here, but the 2s side were equally as poor aside from Murphy who might play, and Hampton who incredibly didn't make the 22.

So when you have an entire group who were poor on the one weekend, what do you do

I'd do that but also drop Poholke , playing him is like playing a lesser J Lyons

Fair enough , take a position and bomb out this year in order to suit our list rebuild

I could actually handle that , as long as everyone can accept losses that come

I'm all about the 2018 draft and would trade Lynch and encourage Rory to go too but most people won't cop losses

Pretty gutsy call to pinpoint the reason weitering hasn’t come on
Ha ha! :p

Obviously there are a number of reasons for it, but my point is that just shoving a young talented kid into the AFL team won't magically develop him by "getting games into him".

The players need to be supported and developed in a wide range of areas and the level of support will vary from player to player across the areas. These include obvious things such as help refining their skills and technique, developing the tactical side of their game, working on their fitness, but dealing with the mental side of things would be a very big area. Dealing with the expectations you may feel is upon you when you're playing poorly and there are 50k+ spectators yelling at you when you make a mistake, dealing with the nerves as you line up to kick for goal with the game in the balance, dealing with defeat or getting dropped, etc.

That's one possible interpretation. Not the way I would read the tea leaves.

I expect he'll be delisted at the end of the year, but players have managed to save their spot on a list from worse positions before. It's unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

What I want to see (based on possible squad):

OUT: Jacobs, Lynch, Poholke, Mackay
IN: Seedsman, O'Brien, Murphy, Otten

What I might be lucky to see given the bench

OUT: Mackay, Poholke
IN: Seedsman, Murphy

What will happen

OUT: Fogarty, Gallucci, Poholke
IN: Seedsman, Otten, Murphy

What won't happen

IN: Accountability

Personally I see no benefit in us scraping into the 8 if we’ve got injuries, we won’t win it and we will just get a shittier draft pick. So then if Sloane goes we have 2 quality picks.

But I don’t want to write off 2019 when we’ve still got a quality side. We would need to find a player or two. Pity Galluci won’t be an A grade mid, if he was quality 3 years in he could provide a decent contribution. With Smith back, we would also need Milera to become a mid.

Milera is a definite chance to be a great mid , Galluci not so much

I kind of hope we bomb this year for the future
