I’m kind of in the zero ****s given for this game. Season was pretty much shot to pieces last week. Even if we win here’s our draw:

Freo away. 50/50. Win.
Hawks away. 50/50. Loss.
WC home. 30/70 right now. Loss.
Tigers away. 10/90. Loss.
Cats home. 50/50. Win.
Lions away. 80/20 win. Win.
Melbourne home. 40/60. Loss.
Showdown. 50/50. Win.
GWS away. 40/60. Loss.
North home. 70/30. Win.
Carlton away. Win.

6 wins for 13 in total. Probably enough for 7th/8th.
We need our players back quick to turn the Hawks, Melbourne, GWS games into wins and a top 4 spot.

Depends on when/if we get players back. Sloane and Tex (and Knight) are meant to be back after the bye, McGovern should be back in round 18/19. We might even get Smith back after the Showdown. If we can turn the West coast, Melbourne and GWS games into wins, that would give top 4. It would mean winning 8/9 home & away games, but I think it's possible.

My choice from the selected squad ...

B: T. Doedee, D. Talia, L. Brown
HB: R. Laird, K. Hartigan, J. Kelly
C: W. Milera, B. Gibbs, P. Seedsman
HF: R. Douglas, C. Ellis-Yolmen, D. Fogarty
F: T. Lynch, J. Jenkins, E. Betts
FOLL: R. O’Brien, H. Greenwood, M. Crouch

INT: J. Gallucci, S. Gibson, L. Murphy , R. Atkins
My preference:
B: Brown, Hartigan, Doedee
HB: Milera, Talia, Laird
C: Seedsman, Mrouch, Atkins
HF: Lynch, Jenkins, Douglas
F: Betts, Fogarty, Gallucci
R: O'Brien, CEY, Gibbs
I: Kelly, Greenwood, Mackay, Murphy
E: Jacobs, Otten, Polhoke, Gibson

To have players go out, you need to have replacements ready to come in. We got nada.
We've got plenty of players who could play as well as the guys did last week.

If we don't make unforced changes it will only signify weakness from the coaching group.

I saw some promising signs from Smith today, he did the majority of training along with everyone else. Though I was a bit disappointed to see Sloane and Knight running on the boundary for most of the session.
They interviewed some reporter on 5aa and he was glowing about Sloane, Smith, Knight and Walker. Did a heap of running (he said Sloane "almost ran two marathons..."), they ran at a good clip including some backwards and sideways stuff. Sloane, Knight and Walker also did some kicking together. He did say that Sloane was wearing sneakers though (but not in the pool).

Hopefully we've got the message that it's more important to get guys fully fit than to rush them back to limp around and "play a role."

Who is there to select from?
We've been down this road before. Effort is a non-negotiable. You're telling a bloke "You may be more talented then who I'm replacing you with, but he's going to bust his guts out and that's what I want to see from you every week if you want to keep your spot"

We've basically created a culture under Don that's says once you're in the 22 you're in the 22 and that's that.

I could be wrong, but I'm doubtful that we'll see Sloane before the bye, same with Knight. Walker looked alright but I don't recall seeing him participate in any of the larger drills that involved most of the players, just minor stuff in one of the pockets. Smith was moving well and was involved in one of the drills where they were practicing moving the ball from end to end.

We are ****ed. Seriously why the **** wouldnt you drop a player after a 15 goal hiding..? It speaks volumes of our heirachy that its ok to put up performances like that without consequences. All these people saying we have nobody to bring in are full of shit. Any of Davis, Hampton, Obrien, Murphy, Dear, Himmelberg, Signorello, Wilson and Cheney couldnt be worse than the pretenders that played on sunday.

Yeah... but then they keep playing Sauce so that kinda goes against that theory :p

Imo, you are likely to be correct, as the club has been burnt playing all 3 before they were ready & it has cost us with longer term injuries.

Roo was on the radio, “we won 5/6 prior to this game, you don’t drop someone after one bad game, if it happens 2-3 weeks in a row then....”

Watch dons press conf from earlier in the week, reporter asks about players that could come in. He says wilson has been good this year and consistent... wow way to reward that don. He may as well start planning his post footy career or look at other clubs because he aint getting a ****ing look in here. What a ****ing disgrace

How is our season shit if we can finish 4th?
Chin up grumpy

Wow, that's both factually incorrect and total blinkers thinking.

Smashed by Collingwood
Defeat Sydney (that gets a tick)
Then beat bottom sides in
Gold Coast
Carlton
Lose to Port when the midfield disappears completely for the 3rd quarter (but Pyke didn't want to make an issue of that)
Beat another bottom 8 side in the Bulldogs
Get annihilated by Melbourne.
We've gone 4-3, and have beaten 1 good side in that time, while having numerous fadeouts, even against the likes of Carlton. That ain't impressive Roo.
