Not really. Everyone bitched last year we didn't expose enough guys when given a chance, but now that's a negative?
Last year we played injured players rather than give the younger ones a chance.

This year the injuries have been so bad and so many, we’ve had no choice.

Besides, remember we still played Sloane injured for 2 games.

Really excited that we are still playing the kids and winning. The experience is great for em. Hope Galluc and poholke get better and help us win a flag
Very disappointed by this post --- way too relevant to the thread, optimistic as well.
Can't you post something about the hamstring melts and Conspiracy theories?
:D

Along similar lines:
Does anybody know where I can watch the footy at a restaurant facing the caldera of Santorini? I'm a jet-setter, flying out tonight.
;)
If you purchase a VPN and set the zone to Australia you can watch it on TV C7 adelaide. The game will probably start at 10am there.

don't know about caldera of Santorini, but if you can get Wifi use the AFL global,
o_O Seriously?
Check out the ";)" in my original post, which should have been ;);););););););).
(I was joking, and having a bit of a dig)

I think it works the other way. If he's told the club he was leaving, the club should ignore the injury, give him enough jabs and play him into the ground, for his next team to fix.
Or we are trying to put out there that he has a bad foot - then the offer from Saints/Essendon/Hawks is lower so we can actually match it and force a trade.

I'm not sure what was lied about, but why would you be so aggrieved at this? What business is it of anyone outside the club other than for interest sake, or for opposition to know the ins and outs of the status of the AFC's...anything? Again, big deal the club doesn't fill us in on every detail of players' injuries.

Lose credibility with whom? The sporting world? The fans? Everyone? for not revealing players injuries? Maybe with Michelangelo R. but hell, is it such a dastardly thing? Do I need to call the injury police?
I heard Hart say Knight could have played last week, but they were resting him because he had covered 10% more ground than the next player on a interrupted preseason.

Clearly this was porkies!

It doesn't give us an advantage, so the only thing it does is makes us question the club's credibility & we lose trust.

It's not a healthy thing, because even if these injuries are all bad luck, by hiding the truth, we start to think that they are covering up malpractice.

The only thing the club has done by lying is eroded our trust, which only makes it worse.

People don't like being treated for fools & this should never be underestimated!

Could you have read it any more incorrectly?

The issue is the club has made a mess of it and we are seeing players dropping like flies. To take the scrutiny off themselves they are lying. Think about it, individuals working at our club are lying to you to hide the fact they have ****** up. Surely as a member of the club you can’t be happy by the arse covering?

Then there is the next element to it, Burton’s appointment was seen by many as a job for the boys, his appointment a promotion for one of the boys and Hass’s promotion a consequence of that. These injuries bring into question whether we appointed the right people and makes a mockery of Fagans claim we will have the best football department in the country.

Hence they are all arse covering.
All I want is a best practice fitness & conditioning staff to give us the best chance of success with the smallest possible injury list.

I'm not confident we have this team at the moment, as our injures appear to be more than bad luck.

We do have some injury prone players, but other clubs like Hawthorn manage them differently. Brouch, Knight & Milera have now missed the early part of the season for 2 consecutive years.

How could Sloane have possibly have passed his fitness test against the Pies. He couldn't even put weight on his foot! It was Jenkins & his ankle all over again. It's up to the fitness staff to properly assess players who are capable of running out a game & if you can barely run, that means resting the player or risk making the injury worse & the player being out for longer.

Doesn't appear we are learning from our mistakes.

Pyke & Fagan. Two peas from the same pod.
I have no issue (& encourage) keeping things secret to gain advantage, but blatantly lying which gives no real advantage serves no purpose but destroying credibility.

Because the next time the club reports news people have either already stopped listening or dont believe a word of it. And that is a club killer

I want to know whose decision it has been for the club to lie to its supporters? Just an individual covering their arse or a collective?
I imagine that you are talking about Riley Knight not being selected. If so, there is no need to fret. I think you will find that a player like Riley Knight is going to have to be managed through his whole career due to his injury history (Brad Crouch and Seedsman are others). Knight would have gone into his two games this season below 100%. It evidently got to a point where he was significantly enough below 100% that he needed a rest. He is still sore enough that another weeks rest is going to be best for him. If Knight had received a new injury in the Gold Coast game the club would have said so - like they have done with all other injuries before and since. The reality is that Knight is constantly injured to some degree and constantly being managed as a result. There is no great conspiracy theory here.

Astounding that people think by not reporting what the injury is to a player it somehow gives us an advantage.

Milera - Knee soreness 2-3 weeks
Milera - Hamstring 2-3 weeks

Port powah this week are like, wow Milera is out with soreness behind the knee.
Port Powah this week are like, wow Milera is out with a hamstring.

Yep I can really see the advantage on keeping the exact cause of injury a secret, worth at least 2 or 3 goals.

We have stuffed up our fitness program, they say we have modified it. It is blatantly obvious that we are giving false information on our injuries to minimise the bad PR we should be copping for getting the work experience guy to run our fitness program.

The biggest change we can make the next off season is a new head fitness guy.

Burton is fine in his role (it is mainly admin) as long as he supports the ethos the new guy takes and they recruit someone with a proven track record.

It seems Haas is out of his depth.

Burton is the head of football. I don't think that's a "mainly admin" role. To me that means he get a major say (if not the final say) in all our big football decisions. Lots of areas would be reporting to him.

Conveniently there is an SANFL bye so the club can hide Knight's injury and say nothing about it.

Alternatively he was dropped.

Possibly dropped, it'd be Rat, Dmac or Gooch that he'd replace. This is the problem with lying about injuries, when it comes to next week and the bloke isn't selected, you're found out pretty quickly.

Team Differences from round 20 Last year

Crows Outs: Charlie Cameron, Jake Lever, Alex Keath, Rory Sloane, Brad Crouch, Riley Knight, Brodie Smith
Crows Ins: Tom Doedee, Paul Seedsman, Miles Poholke, Gibbs, CEY, Galluci, Otten

Interesting that Otten, Milera and Seedsman were all dropped for the showdown last year.

Ports Outs: Karl Amon, Hamish Hartlett, Aidyn Johnson, Angus Monfries, Aaron Young, Jarman Impey, Jasper Pittard
Ports Ins: Riley Bonner, Dan Houston, Steven Motlop, Jack Watts, Tom Rockliff, Dougal Howard, Jake Neade

So it pretty much is this
Bonner vs Seedsman
Houston vs Doedee
Dougal Howard vs Otten
Jack Watts vs Galluci
Neade vs Poholke
Rockliff vs Gibbs
Motlop vs CEY

These are of course not like for like but I would say some of them are on paper they look a bit stronger but then you look at our matchups vs there's and suddenly think we have them all over the park.

Overall on paper, we are weaker & they are stronger... but that doesn't account for attitude.
