This is from a Federal Vice-president of the Liberal Party. Extraordinary performance. Disgraceful. Trumpesque would be appropriate.

Says it all about the arrogance of this political party.

That’s on par with the NSW Opposition Leader in the lead up to their election, and any chance of the Coallition regaining votes after that performance is now gone.

If the Libs don't put the One Nation last, what can one say? Might retain their seats in Qld but a bloodbath possible in the Southern States!

I've said it before, but I will say it again James Ashby is an absolute grub.

It's kind of ironic that he has become a big part of the downfall of One Nation. Clearly Pauline Hanson wasn't smart enough to realise this.

I seriously have to question the intelligence of One Nation supporters - they obviously had labotomies when a child. No other explanation for it.

And interesting that a particular poster has gone MIA.

Anyone see the James Ashby interview?

Foreign interference? How messed up is it where we have these guys in parliament influencing serious decisions in our society. I never thought I'd see the day where such idiots would have so much power over the world I live in.

He is arguably the biggest snake in politics, he's always ready to knife anyone in the back to further his own career.

I know Pauline is not the brightest spark around, but bringing this guy in gives dumb a whole new meaning.

Watched the first part of the ABC program (part two is on Thursday) - be amazed if this doesn't destroy One Nation as a party.

How on earth Scott Morrison can't make a call just shows how much of a limp dick he is! ******* pathetic.

One Nation seems to always find a way to come back like last night’s pizza though

After his Shanghai Sam interference in Australia's security he should not be within 100km of any Politician he can influence.....end of story.

Shadowy back-door figures like Sam Dastyari and Michael Photios are the main reason why the state of Politics in NSW is so rancid.

Fair call.

I trust no-one from NSW politics no matter which side.

I missed it, but it is good timing for him to be exposed not long before the Federal election to hopefully impact on the One Nation vote... however, Pauline still has a core group of voters, but hopefully they are minimised.

Morrison should be happy as many should now jump across to the coalition.

voters of these movement type parties are generally pretty well rusted on. Labor voters would still vote for Slimeball Sam and the NSW guy talking about Asians stealing our jobs. They believe in the party, so easily excuse just about anything.

The core yes, but the One Nation vote has fluctuated massively over the years, so this will cost them Senate seats.

Depends on what they lost those votes. Internal turmoil has reared its head just as it did with Labor and Coalition. I think this is the primary reason for lost votes, individual policies or complete stuff ups aren’t really a problem for voters, unless there’s direct impact to that voter. Disunity is and I reckon that has been One Nation’s issue every now and again. In our current climate, with Nats struggling equally for a united message and the Coalition, despite looking like lurching further to the right, just as bad, there’s really only the Shooters for these voters to settle with. I’m not sure we’ll see much change in their vote.

I consider myself a pretty rusted on Labor voter (for the lower house anyway, I'd never vote for a major party in the upper house), but if I were a NSW resident Daley's comments would've been enough for me to vote for a suitable independent/minor party.

There would be many people, though (on all sides) where no matter what is said/done, they'd vote for the same party. It's how we end up with the likes of Hanson in Parliament.

There's a difference between the impact of exposing bad apples, and the impact of exposing the party's core beliefs. Shanghai Sam & Daley are both rotten apples, but their acts did not reflect the values of the party - Sam's comments about China openly contradicted Labor policy. In contrast, the One Neuron Party fwits openly revealed just how rotten their party's core values really are.

I was having a friendly intellectual competition with a coworker the other day about the NZ shooting. We'd traded several blows and I'd promoted my inequality thing to her, which she acknowledged was a key issue (and she already was aware of it anyway) but we got on to one nation and gun laws etc and she said something like "Who the f wants weaker gun laws, they should have strong gun laws!" I have no idea where the next thing that came out of my mouth came from, it wasn't conscious thought, it was too quick and I wasn't til after I heard it that it got me to thinking. Anyway the thing that came out was "Why shouldn't there be strong inequality laws then?"

Straight away after starting to think about it I knew the howls that would come and where they would come from. Socialism! Commy. Restriction of Freedom. Infringement of my rights. Blah, blah, blah. I had a chuckle to myself about that. Then I went back to reviewing the thought. Its a sound concept. I see no flaw. As long as the correlations of inequality that I've shown hold, then it is logical to have inequality laws or perhaps laws is a bit strong of a way to put it, perhaps strong inequality fighting policies would be the go.

I reckon supporting one nation is incredibly normalised these days. It's no longer an extreme notion (to the converted or fence sitters).

I also believe their core has grown quite a bit.

When have you ever known someone with extreme views from any side view negative information rationally? If anything the negative press will strengthen their support. They've already turned it around to being an attack on Australia's democracy by an Islamic nation. Or an attack by leftist mainstream media (this one really makes the mind boggle).

The only way this hurts them is when it comes to preference voting imo.

The Port Arthur truther issue is really the only thing I can imagine One Nation losing a reasonable amount of support for, perhaps PHON running a Muslim as a candidate although I would wager a large portion of PHON voters would be unaware of it. I tend to think the only thing that could probably end PHON is if they were deregistered as a political party, but otherwise ...

They should have not been allowed to come back into prominence in any case.

Rotten to you and I don't think I'm going too far out on the limb to suggest that you sit and pretty well the opposite end of the spectrum. One Nation voters would largely probably not care.
