YOUR VOTE WILL BE FOR WHO YOU DETEST THE LEAST

Malcolm Turnbull, actually seems alright except he keeps bending over for the far-Right nutjobs in his party, so much so we're an assassination attempt away from Mr Potatohead Shitler as PM

Bill Shorten, i assume there's a picture of him in the dictionary next to the word "bland" and possibly "slippery". He can't really be the best the unions have to offer.

What are you referring to when you say he keeps bending to the far-Right nutjobs? Examples?

I didn't think socialism had been implemented anywhere. Communism and possibly a spot of marxism but never any socialism. Surely an academic like Sowell wouldn't get something this basic wrong?

Secondly JG isn't socialism. Its everything as it is now, but programs for jobs for those who haven't got them (or don't want their current one - such as me). It will only minimally compete with private sector and doesn't alter any market mechanisms to any great degree. It will cost 1% to maybe as much as 4% of GDP. A doddle really. A no brainer. Just get it done.

Lucas will just sell it as a toll way
Maybe, but I had to laugh. Bruce had been carping on about the Libs doing nothing and a few weeks back when it looked like we were being short changed on infrastructure, he took offence to Lucas’s conciliatory approach.

I pointed out that Marshall was meeting Turnbull the next day and why doesn’t he wait for the outcome before he whinges and about 2 weeks later, bang, we have this announcement.

Might be good for the state not to have a government trying to pick a fight with the Commonwealth to hide their failings.

They'll want to get in quick for their chop before the next election because Shorten's mob will give em' SFA......Politics in Australia...

That's so very true, very true

The last 5-7 years = Liberal nationally, Labor state = we get nothing
The one year gap before the Federal Election = Liberal nationally, Liberal state = we are the favoured child
After the next Federal Election = Labor nationally, Liberal state = we get nothing

May hay while the sun shines!

Now to get the Gawler line fully electrified, and possibly Grange/Outer Harbour too. Turnbull will probably build that white elephant Monarto airport too while he's feeling generous to us.

Look brucetiki what can be achieved in only 6 weeks with a co-operative approach
Translation:
Fed Libs: We're being killed in the polls, has anyone got anything we can do quick to make us look good
SA Libs: Yer, there's something in SA, you know that road you've been stalling on for ages, something to do with costs
Fed Libs: Done! Just announce it already.

Something Labor came up with too

Yeah and when Labor likely win the next Federal Election SA will get SFA for 3 years....my big hope is Turnbull does to Labor what Labor did to the LNP on the way out.....leave them with a shedload of unfunded legislated "feel good" projects like Gonski and the NDIS into the future.
That probably won't happen, given the recent improvement in economic conditions. The government is rolling in money for this year's budget. That's partly due to higher global commodity prices, and partly due to companies having exhausted their credits from previous losses. Neither of those has anything to do with the Government's policies, but that won't stop them from claiming credit for their current good fortune (yes, Labor would do the same thing if they were in power).

With more money to spend, there probably won't be any need for "unfunded policies".

Pre-Election
SA Labor: Give us the cash you bunch of Liberal arseholes, we hate you
Fed Libs: Thats no way to ask, so * off

Post election
SA Libs: We would like to develop South Rd further and seek your assistance please and as you can see by these plans it would benefit the state by ......
Fed Libs: Sounds like a worthwhile project, we appreciate your professional approach. Approved!

I would also have accepted

Dear fascist bullyboy,

give me some money, you bastard

Boomshanka,

I get it:

Govt does good, “Well done Minister, you suck Malcolm”

Govt does bad, “Your fault Malcolm, you suck”

What is this unfunded you speak of?

There is spending limitations, of which tax take is rarely one, there is no unfunded.

Bruce is purely a barracker, he won't even offer up a cautious, "looks ok on the surface, but I'd like to see the detail".

Overlooking the fact the Superway-T2T link was a Labor idea in the first place. The Libs are in the right place at the right time for this one.

Ironically, from memory wasn’t the Liberals against both T2T and the Superway?

Nonetheless it’s great they actually did something and secured funding for this project. Now they need keep gunning for more infrastructure projects such as finishing the Gawler electrification and prove they’re really backing all South Australians.

Hopefully they scrap the idea of the white elephant airport at Monarto though.

At the end of the day posts like this prove that few right-leaning posters are capable of civil conversation without resorting to snide comments and gloating over one positive announcement.

I lean nowhere. Bicks is equally leaning as you, everyone sits on the spectrum somewhere from the rusted ons at either end to the genuine swinging voters in the middle.

Edit - you only get singled out because you lost your s**t after the election result and claimed the new government a failure before they'd taken a single pot plant into the offices. I'm sure you'll relax, as a fair bit of your response suggests, but it was funny to watch the meltdown after the loss.

You claim to be neutral yet only single me out. I think that’s called bullying.

As I say to your right-wing mates, stick to the topic. If you can’t keep on topic, maybe it’s best to leave the discussion.
