Still no signs that the rate cuts and tax cuts have had any impact going by august numbers. 0.4% retail growth nationally.

Monthly data can be volatile though.

Commonwealth claiming that new infrastructure projects would be hamstrung by limited skills capacity given the current projects. They've also got their surplus to worry about.

Any retail growth at all would point to some degree of impact.

There's nearly always growth. Average positive growth in this case is not positive news given the stimulus provided.

We're still waiting for tax returns to play out so there's still hope for some sugar hit. Interest rates (surprise surprise) are barely having an impact.

Been watching the Democrats debates in the USA. Honestly none of them have a hope of beating trump, trump for a landslide victory in 2020.

Landslide? Trump barely won against a very weak candidate in Clinton back in 2016, why would he win in a landslide now that it's become even more evident how much of a disaster he is - punctuated by him giving the Turkish state the opportunity to ethnically cleanse the Kurds and bringing ISIS back to strength as a result.

Sanders and Warren would beat him, Trump's only chance is if he comes up against Biden who is somehow even more senile than Trump.

I reckon he'll get back in. Don't think many people who voted for him last time will have switched. There's almost nothing that he can do to harm his support.

Weak Candidate? everyone said Hillary would wipe the floor with him and he beat her.

Trump is enacting on his campaign promise he said back in 2016 in ending US involvement in endless wars, why should more American soldiers die when these people have been murdering one another for hundreds of years? Why should the US be the Global police? Maybe the UN can get off it's ass and do it's job for once.

As for the Sanders and Warren, Sanders doesn't have the stamina to last as President. Both he and Warren will destroy America's economy with there medicare for all (including illegal immigrants) open boarders and the green new deal. Americans see through the Democratic nonsense, just look at the turnout at Trumps 2 recent rallies in Minnesota and Louisiana.

She was a weak candidate, she was probably the worst candidate the Democrats could have put up.

You really don't get it, do you? Trump pulled out without warning and has caused a humanitarian catastrophe by letting Turkey ethnically cleanse Northern Syria and bring ISIS back to strength, is this what you like to see? The US shouldn't even be in the Middle East, but in this context Trump managed to betray an ally and destabilise the region further. It is an indefensible action that only the most blind Trump fanboy could defend.

(Also, Trump's desire to end involvement in 'endless wars' was conveniently missing when he threatened to start a war with Iran)

As for the Sanders and Warren, Sanders can barely string a sentence together not to mention how corrupt he is. Just look at his involvement in his son getting him on oil and gas company's boards in both the Ukraine and China when he had no experience what so ever yet the blokes earning Billions of dollars. Elizabeth Warren will destroy America's economy with her medicare for all (including illegal immigrants) open boarders and the green new deal. Americans see through the Democratic nonsense, just look at the turnout at Trumps 2 recent rallies in Minnesota and Louisiana.

What the hell are you talking about? That's Biden, not Sanders. Your post about Warren is incoherent and the supposed turnout at Trump's rallies is irrelevant.

Bernie Sanders recently had a heart attack scare, i highly doubt he has the stamina to last 2 terms as President. Warrens policies are destructive to the American economy, you think the american people are going to be happy seeing illegal immigrants get free medicare, seeing there boarders being overrun by immigrants. Warren will just be another Hillary Clinton. Pretty sure she's the one that claimed to be Native American when she's clearly not.

That's going to be key. The redneck/white trash demographic that resonate well with Trump's immigration policies would be thrilled with his performance and would see absolutely no reason not to vote for him.

I find the whole thing boring, all the “world will end, WWIII” stuff from Australians was pretty amusing though. Weird that people would get so wound up. Anyway, what I reckon will happen is that voter turnout from the anti-Trump population will be increased. Not sure there’s much room for improvement from the pro-Trump crowd.

There might be but they’ll be in democratic states. In the US, the president elect is done by the electoral college we’re each state has a value of votes and the president elect must collect 270 votes in order the win. If there is a democratic vote increase it will most likely come from states like California, Massachusetts, New York which always vote democratic, Hillary comfortably won those states in 2016. The Democrats need to overturn states like Florida, Arizona, North Carolina to have a chance, if anything there more in danger losing states like Minnesota and others to the republicans.

Yep. It's why they're so desperate to impeach him. He'll get voted in again.

jenny61_99 , do you remember posting that Trump would bring on WW3? You were beside yourself at the mere thought. Remember being so ridiculously emotional on something that barely impacts your life at all? I presume that you’re a little more relaxed about Trump these days. Even though he remains a complete knob.
