You actually forget how good some of these players have been great to see meatball back and I thought he was also a very positive effect on young McCaullifee who has an enormous upside

how quickly some supporters are to write off our players. in one of the other threads I suggested the Meatball is a gun and has runs on the board and was savaged. Well he may be 32 but he is still one hell of a player and makes us look infinitely better in the midfield.

Consider it a learning curve and move on getting games into the younger kids.
People blaming any kid including sonsie is really deluded as any player that has less than 50 games cannot and should not be blamed for a loss. They all did well to go away and be the better team that didnt kick straight

We melt because we are living in the moment. It was a terrible choke. How awesome would it be for the players on the flight home, celebrating a win on the road over a top 8 team in GWS
We could win 6-7 games and still finish bottom 4. Crows last year had 8.5 wins and finished bottom 4. Dees had 11 wins and had a top 5 pick.

We will have two picks in the top 5.

Agree 100%. Sonsie was okay but failed under pressure at the death knock. I’m not a fan of the Sonz but to hold him accountable for the loss is crazy. It should be pointed out to him that he must put his head over the pill and pick it up when it’s his turn to go. However he needs to be afforded another few games and confidence could see him develop.

Play him every week and watch the improvement

Sure there are area's of his game that need work but there is a afl player there

Agree. Not quick anymore but has the class that Taranto and Hopper don’t have to make them A grade

It’s all about stacking up quality players who can be part of a future flag tilt. We’ve unearthed a few in the last month alone … Gray, Banks, Sims.

For anyone not feeling optimistic… here is my list of players that give me cause for optimism compared to end of 2024, when the players were either not looking as good, injured or not at the club (I’m leaving out those who haven’t played yet):

Faull
McCauliffe

Faull had 8 touches, 5 marks and could’ve easily had 2 or 3 goals. These are very solid numbers for a young KPF. What do people expect? He’s doing just fine and doesn’t need a rest IMO.

I watched the VFL and AFL games today, and the differences in game style is staggering.

However, when the AFL side played a similar style to the VFL side in the first qtr, what would you know, we were right on top.

After this, we went back to our old ways. Slow play, kicking long down the line to contests, kicking backwards, overusing the footy by hand. And look what happened.

When we play that risk taking, aggressive brand of footy, sides can’t go with us, and that’s just what happens with the VFL side.

Guys like Banks and Brown run and carry, while Campbell, Green, Mansell are all too quick for their opponents.

I feel like it has to be instilled in our guys to run, carry, take risks. Take the game on, it’s a development year.

I’m actually really disappointed with the result today, because the game was there for the taking, and we kicked ourselves out of it. By poor kicking at goal, and by kicking longgggg down the line at every opportunity.
