Going to be a tough game this one.
Will be interesting to see our side, it should be a strong one.
With our game being on Thursday night there will be no emergencies held over.
Greenwood, Young, Reid and Moore to all get more game time.
Blair to return to the senior side bringing someone out of the side such as Kennedy/DeGoey to play in the 2's
Gault should be back in as well
Big Show fresh off 6 last week.

This could be a really good game with a really decent side on the park.

Will likely head down for this.

Channel 7 have the weirdest start times for their VFL games, you have to search through the TV guide each week to figure out when they are showing it.

Anyway, the 12.12 start time is ok by me, means a much earlier finish, hopefully a big crowd gets down to Vic Park for this one too, the boys need to win it to get back into the top 8.

We've also won 9 of our last 11 games at Vic Park so we consider it something that has to be defended.

Looking forward taking the kids and the esky to Vicky Park again this year.

Always good to see a win at that ground :)

That is IF Reid Plays AFL
IF Reid is fit, and Balme says he is, with Fremantle's key defence woes right now we would be stupid not to play Reid. He would be paying on Pearce, he could kick 10.**

**Assuming Buckley would be smart enough to play him forward.

Reid will play Down Back at AFL Level
That would be a huge waste this year. Anyway, this is not the thread to be talking about this as it is a VFL thread. Would hate to flood it!

Go VFL pies ;)

Reid is fit enough to play a full VFL game. Balme said nothing about him being ready to be selected in the senior team.

Moore to play forward, with Reid, Marsh and Pendles filling key defensive roles imo.

The club has been very open about playing Reid down back initially, it's not just about the physical injury and it's rehab, you have to take into account the psychological recovery and build his confidence from there. Bucks is very smart so he'll start down back.

Indeed. And the 2 losses in that streak (which Tapping and the club deserve kudos for for re-establishing, because our pre-2013 home record was a disgrace) were thumpings by top 8 sides, so the recent form guide suggests it'll either be another toweling or we'll win in a close one.

Curious bit of trivia: in each of the last two encounters with Box Hill, our team has had a cameo appearance from a senior best 22 midfielder on the comeback trail from injury. In 2013, it was Dayne Beams, while in 2014 it was Luke Ball (alright, Ball wasn't so much returning from injury as he was being made to fight for his spot, but you get the idea). And funnily enough, both games we won!

This week, we're set to get a full game from Levi Greenwood, so let's hope the trend continues...

Here's an update on some VFL injuries for those of you that care:

1. Michael Still ripped his hammy off the bone and is done for the season.
2. Tim Allan had had surgery to remove some bone from his ankle and will be out for quite some time (not sure exactly how long but it's medium to long term in Balme speak).

Our big man stocks in the VFL have taken quite a hit.

Shocking news for both fellas, really disappointing about Still being the big bloke and a seemed focal point of our forward line who was having a great year.

Are they allowed to bring in new players to cover those two????

Not sure how the VFL list system works.

I guess it's time to keep Moore forward permanently then. If Still can't make it back we need another genuine tall forward to partner Gault. Our defence is fine with Marsh, Pendles and Reid running around.

Still will be devestated. Came over from SA to try to get noticed by AFL clubs.....and I think he was just beginning to do that. I wouldnt put it past a club - possibly collingwood - from throwing him a rookie lifeline. But his cause might not be helped if we have committed to thomas and keeffe

So I guess the Chances or Moore playing up Forward are lot better now;)
