Why would we put a soft, unaccountable frontrunner as an inside mid?May be a new role for Zaka , playing inside mid and forward

His best footy was playing as an unaccountable HFF circa 2010/11.To be fair he has played his best footy more inside

Because we haven’t.That, eth-dog, is the question that has been plaguing Essendon fans for at least two seasons now.
Why would we build an inside midfield unit on players who are soft, weak and/or unaccountable?

Does anyone know if Dylan Clarke and Zerk have flown with the team?
Neither named in the vfl. Stringer and possibly hooker or mckernan late outs?
They're both emergencies so you would think they would go anyway.
I was optimistic about a win until I saw the umpires......D Margetts will make sure we lose !!
Nah, cant be.Because we haven’t.

Yeah...maybe in the VFL though. He should really be a half forward who occasionally ventures into the middle.
that would’ve been handy last week against footscrayZaka played in VFL he’d get 45 possessions and kick 3 goals. Point is there’s not a lot beating down door to take his place
Guess the point to the other side of the argument is that supporters want to to see someone like a D Clarke running hard, tackling, putting their body on the line and showing some level of desperation. As opposed to a player constantly trailing behind to avoid contact and taking the odd short step to avoid been first to the ball.Zaka played in VFL he’d get 45 possessions and kick 3 goals. Zaka’s no coward if that’s what you’re suggesting. Forward and in the middle is where he needs to be. Clarke has time, but he’s been very poor last two weeks and kicking and lack of pace hurting us.Guess the point to the other side of the argument is that supporters want to to see someone like a D Clarke running hard, tackling, putting their body on the line and showing some level of desperation. Hypothetical numbers that may be achieved in the VFL has no relevance to current senior form.
Coward is a strong word, and I am not saying he is one. However I think he is experienced enough, and physically adequate enough, to impose himself around the ball. And I don't think he is doing this at all. Also think over an extended period on time his form does not warrant him been in the seniors.
