It was just a weird thing to do from Rioli. It's like he panicked that he'd misjudged the block, so he jumped and reached out to try and still impede Ridley.

Definitely responsible for the contact but whether you can call that high impact or not is debatable; most of the force is coming from Ridley charging towards the marking contest, not the flailing arm.

Intentional, dirty, elbow to the head. DBJ just didn't end up injured.

Accidental, standard play block, backhand clip, but Essendon guy got injured.

hit 10 times and Bailey will get concussed 9 times out of 10. Kossie just got lucky.

Replay the Rioli/Ridley hit 10 times and Ridley will be fine 9 times out of 10. Rioli just got unlucky.

This sort of s**t will keep happening as long as the MRO rules on outcome rather than intent. Ironically Rioli laid a hit on Matt Rowell

Looks like a dive in that footage. Where is the major impact? When he hits the ground flailing around? Lets see that part. Also, maybe he was so embarrassed by the dive he subbed himself out to save face.

I'm not convinced it isn't staging and he deliberately flunked the concussion test. Seems harsh to say but it looks so dumb.

They were definitely checking out his jaw on the bench so he's indicated to them that he was hit in the jaw. (probably where the broken jaw talk came from)

So the impact was not enough to break his jaw, or even make his head move backwards, but it was enough to concuss him.

It's a strange one because there's no reason for Ridley or Essendon to fake this. You have to take the concussion test as given.

They definitely need to look at the footage of Ridley hitting the ground.
