How sensitive are Carlton fans. Listening to SEN, Wallace mentioned that Worps played 1 too many games to be eligible for the rising star but if he was eligible he would have no doubt that he would win it easily because of the 3 or 4 BOG’s he has played during the season whereas Walsh’s top end games were not comparable. Obviously the switchboard went crazy and he came back on to say not to take it in the wrong way, that Walsh was still a gun and you would expect Worpel to be ahead given he is older. Seriously!!!!!!!

Put a ball between Worps and Walsh I know who would come out with it. Would take Worpel ahead of Walsh any day of the week.

Is there a different young player award done on Brownlow night? Maybe one from the AFLPA and/or AFLCA?

Walsh is a total gun but Worpel has been far better than him this year.

AFLPA definitely does have one, but it's Best First Year player.

Mods. Is it time to change the title of this thread? Warps is now IMO a bonafide gun A grader. Can we remove the reference to rising star nom from round 21 last year? His career is now beyond that fairly insignificant award.

Also does he need to be welcomed anymore? Can’t we just bask in his post arrival period greatness and the fact we picked him at 45?

How's this.

Official AFL Player Ratings just posted this to Twitter.

Guess whose the best player in the AFL under 22?

Also, the third best player in the comp under the age of 24 - behind Oliver and Dunkley.

Better than De Goey too ;)

Yes and surely at that point he wasn’t the round 21 rising star nomination from 2018. Hence the query on thread title change as I assume it’s been changed before. Unless the thread was created at the time he was nominated for the rising star and not when drafted.

Yes I am an egg head.😀
