A proud Noongar man from Narrogin, Western Australia, Williams will replace Hartlett as a development coach.

Williams, who is passionate about mentoring and developing people, has served as Head Coach of the AFL’s Indigenous Talent Programs, as well as the Bacchus Marsh Football Club in 2023. Prior to that he worked as an assistant coach at the Northern Bullants in the VFL and the Calder Cannons in the Victorian U/18 league.

“I’m passionate about helping young footballers grow and maximise their potential,” Williams said.

“Having spent part of this past season with Port Adelaide observing and shadowing their coaching group, I could not be more excited by this opportunity.”

Has a bit of 'Make our community proud' factor more than anything, but hopefully he can help make our footballers football more footbally without Hinkley interfering too much to do otherwise.

He actually sounds like an interesting guy with a real story. Trying out for 'the recruit' and zac butters being his favourite afl player are slight links? I like that he says he wants to empower players and improve the environment he walks into. I hope he goes well and doesn't get eaten up by Ken, port and the afl system.

Just watching a video on where the contestants of season 2 of the recruit are now. Seen Jason Williams is now a development coach at Port and working with NGA. Good stuff. He started at the bottom to
Wagner, Voss, and now Williams. Its looking likely that Kochie only knows the sport through that show.
