Mainly here so we can enjoy the LOLs afterwards at the end of 2023, but also an interesting discussion point.

I’m in genuine two minds and can’t call it, but who do you see finishing higher in 2023?

Who is positioned better from a list/team perspective?

Let the games begin…

Mod Note: This is a thread for BANTER and giving and taking a bit of the mickey. Enter at your own risk!
However this does NOT mean name calling, personal abuse, injury trolling, swearing or gifs/memes with swear words in them. Keep it clean and above the belt.
Thank you.

Carlton supporters carrying on a bit.
They have beaten Brisbane who are turning out to be a pretty average team.
Richmond who will finish bottom six and North Melbourne who will finish bottom of the ladder.

Interesting game next week when they face Fremantle who have gun rucks, midfield and a pretty dynamic back-line who like to run and carry (as Carlton do).

Dunno what game you were watching, but you seriously reckon Carlton would have barely scraped across the line by a point if Keidean Coleman hadn’t gone down at half time with an ACL?

And yeah, Walsh was a significant out, but Ashcroft is no mug either.

and c’mon, the rest of your outs were B listers that Carlton fans themselves tear their hair out over when they’re amongst themselves.
You do realise that Weitering is our most important player and our reigning B & F. - B Lister. Come on man

So our best and fairest and last years and the best finals player for the league are out. Probably covers anything Brisbane had out easily. Just them two -Walsh & Weitering

Then at half time we lost Sam Docherty. You know previous captain ,previous best and fairest. Did his ACL in the first quarter but tried to keep playing.

Your argument is silly. And you are making yourself look sillier the more that you try and prosecute it.

Fremantle aren't really playing all that well at the moment. If you're going to comment about individual games, they let the Roos to a what, 4-5 goal lead? Our game was a lot more commanding in comparison.

And as long as the Eagles are around, I don't think North will finish bottom.

Lots of ifs, buts , and maybes, however the game has been decided and Carlton won , so why bother bringing possible scenarios?
You could argue that Coleman and ashcrofts absence was the difference on yesterday's result, yeah ?

Carlton will be 6th at the end of the round. Problem for Carlton is many sides are looking good so far. Have to wait to see how they go against them.

yes, thankyou for being putrid long enough for us to catch up.

it wasn't all bad for you though, you did win 5 spoons along the way - you're way ahead of us there.

Yeah, and they try hard to take the piss out of us, right?

Colliwobbles:
  • 32 years (completed)
  • 22 seasons played finals
  • 8 Grand finals
  • 1 wooden spoon

Blueshakes:
  • 28 years (and counting - only 4 to catch up)
  • 11 seasons played finals
  • 1 Grand Final
  • 5 wooden spoons

You might be looking for a club history thread or something similar. You are in the "Who will be better in 2024. Carlton or Collingwood" thread.

Sure …

… But I’m not the one claiming my team is a shoe-in for the 2024 flag after demolishing the Lions by a point, smashing a Tiger’s team with 3 men down by 5 points, and crushing the mighty North Melbourne Football club by a kazillion points …

… and that the only reason Carlton haven’t won the flag, the Coleman and the Brownlow already is because of injuries to a couple of decent players (Walsh, Wietering) + a bunch of others who now that they’re out injured are being martyred as the finest players to ever play the game.

My bad.

I could have sworn this was the “The definition of insanity is Carlton fans repeating again and again x 28 the mistake of going too early with expectations” thread.
