To me it runs the risk of creating a subconscious negative association with the brand.

Hahaha ...

... “Collingwood’s press conference on racial inclusion, proudly brought to you by ...” ...

... once upon a time the mantra was “Any publicity is good publicity”, but that was in the days before corporate social responsibility was a thing!

Can understand the attraction of bringing Mayne back. Having 6 players with <10 senior games to their name is likely rarely going to end well. BUT I'd still prefer they persist with them ahead of Mayne. JDG replacing Ruscoe should be sufficient rebalancing of that ledger.

All the latest injury report news ahead of round 8
By Tom Robertson (collingwoodfc.com.au) -

In positive injury news for the Pies, Trent Bianco returns from a lengthy stint on the sidelines with knee inflammation and will play VFL on Saturday.
Defender Jeremy Howe is getting closer to being available to selection after making good progress with a hamstring issue, while Taylor Adams and Jamie Elliott continue to ramp up their running from their respective injuries.
Our resident injury report host, Kevin White has also been struck down with illness and was unavailable to record the round 8 episode.
See below for the full injury report, presented by AIA Vitality.

Trent Bianco (knee) - Available for selection

  • Completed a strong three week training block since knee inflammation. Bianco will be available for VFL selection on Saturday.
Mason Cox (hamstring) - Expected return: Test
  • A late withdrawal from the VFL last week with hamstring soreness. Cox will need to train full this week to be available for selection.
Liam McMahon (ankle) - Expected return: Test
  • A late withdrawal from the VFL last week with a rolled ankle. McMahon's function will be monitored throughout the week to see if he is right to go in the VFL on Saturday.
Taylor Adams (knee) - Expected return: 4-5 weeks
  • Positive review from specialist and is now out of the knee brace. Adams has started a running program and agility work.
Jamie Elliott (lower leg) - Expected return: 5-6 weeks
  • Started on ground running. Elliott will continue to progress straight line running over the next two weeks.
Levi Greenwood (concussion) - Expected return: TBA
  • As per last week, Greenwood is moving through a cautious approach with concussion due to history. In the process of increasing training after approvals from doctors.
Jeremy Howe (hamstring) - Expected return: 1 week
  • Completed a solid football session last Saturday. Progressing into high speed work this week and will look to play in round 9 against Sydney.

Obviously a few of us were watching Howe chair off Sidey and thinking "WTF!?" and now...........we'll never know , will we? They wouldn't admit to it even if it was true.

Is it just me or is Syndesmosis the new buzz word in the AFL this season.

Man I miss the good old days when a player would only need to sit out 2 weeks for a hammy or rolled ankle.
It didn't seem to be a thing until the last decade but now it seems to be more rampant than Covid19. :'(

How long would reefs injury keep him out for? Isn’t the same thing scharenberg had when we drafted him
No, Scharenberg had stress fractures/hot spots in his navicular bones in both feet iirc.

fu** me that sucks. Let it heal, Reef, don’t go for the tightrope procedure.

Is it likely to be a long term problem? Isn't that the one that ended Swanny and Egan atthe Cats? Or am I mixing it up.
