Okay fair enough, that is surprising, as thought he would be rated much higher than that, but people have said, until all trades are done, it will probably make more sense following this as each club probably has different player rankings. He had Phillipou at 11 in August, has moved Hollands ahead of Hewett and Busslinger this month.
Also, this is his rankings, not his phantom draft.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if WCE selected Hewett with their first pick....local boy who trained with them last summer....and I'm not sure they'd want to let one go who is right under their nose for the taking.Hollands is a great player, but I hope we don’t take him. He’s adding to more of what we have, more inside than outside midfielder who does his best work around stoppages, he’s a very good runner, but serious question marks on his ball use.
High possession, slightly lower impact player. I think he could find himself stuck in our 2s for a couple of years as I don’t believe he would have the ability to play a hybrid role early on in his career and midfield spots are hard to come by at the moment.
I’d love us to try move up a little and get Mackenzie. Finds time and space a little like Pendles and his ball use is smart and damaging.
Otherwise Hewett would be my pick, whilst he’ll have a great career as a midfielder, he’s the type of player that could have an impact playing forward whilst developing and waiting for a spot to open up in our midfield.
Hotton for meHollands is a great player, but I hope we don’t take him. He’s adding to more of what we have, more inside than outside midfielder who does his best work around stoppages, he’s a very good runner, but serious question marks on his ball use.

I’ve been watching the championship games. Recruiters were mainly comparing him to Darcy parish/jack macrae high disposals getters but not huge impact on games, his going to be a bloody good player but only Makes a lot of sensible decisions with the football But the recent two champ games I’ve watched I have been more impressed. With his damage. And can see him in the navy blueMatty Lloyd gave Ollie Hollands a massive wrap on Trade Radio. Around being able to tag at school level as opposed to it being prohibited in NAB league, and his tenacity and ability to work through. Quoting 13 tackles in a game levels and still getting 30 possies. Did suggest perhaps needing to tidy disposal, which personally I don’t see. Playing inside in the kids comp and under constant pressure. Early seasons at top level would be more outside. His technique and vision are excellent. I don’t see an issue, particularly when compared to his contemporaries.
Interesting take 43, you get great intel, but have trouble with this opinion offering. Hollands was a more outside player, who also played half back. Certainly his carnival was as a high output inside role, but underage and even earlier in the season, played more outside and his disposal and two way run was lauded fairly universally.Hollands is a great player, but I hope we don’t take him. Oh Sheezel mate, Tsatas no good, best you do a Humphrey and Jefferson the pants by George. If he lasts to our pick, I will Phillipou my pants...
Mmmm... Carlton @ Pick 11!It'll be pick 11 after Ashcroft is matched. But, yes.
Gotta take Scaife... Fremantle NGA..Nice list mate
Think Scaife, Foster and Edmends underrated
Menzel was a good player in my view just had a lot of external issues. Maybe my young age blindsided me but he was goodMmmm... Carlton @ Pick 11!
2000 - Trent Sporn
2012 - Troy Menzel

Yep. He could play, no worries. But he could take or leave AFL, his whole career, it wasn't just a Carlton thing. It's a shame we spent a first-rounder on him, in that respect.Menzel was a good player in my view just had a lot of external issues. Maybe my young age blindsided me but he was good
What about Bailey Humphrey?Hollands is a great player, but I hope we don’t take him. He’s adding to more of what we have, more inside than outside midfielder who does his best work around stoppages, he’s a very good runner, but serious question marks on his ball use.

Arr0w lets just say hypothetically we've traded up to 6/8/9 with Gold Coast/Port/Bowes pick or we've even made it to pick 11 as we currently stand and Wardlaw's shockingly dropped out of the top 5 due to his bung hammies and is still on the board. Humphrey, Wardlaw, Hotton are all still available and our list is as is. Who you going with?
Agreed. According to Calculating Cal we could have Busslinger, Phillipou and Hollands available for consideration.Twomey has Phillipou at 11 - dare to dream...
Nope.As per every year
This bloke just got an invite to the combine for testing, seems an interesting outside-leaning midfield prospect for later on:
Foster I like. Reckon he could be a real good project.Nice list mate
Think Scaife, Foster and Edmends underrated
I reckon you could get #5 or 6 with that deal. Doubt NM or WC bite. GWS have sights on Cadman I reckon. * wouldn’t trade with us. Scott will want to use it also. Sheezel could easily drop. 1. Ashcroft (bid), Tsatas, Busslinger, Cadman, Wardlaw, Sheezel is how I could see it going. WC like Busslinger. Wardlaw drops I reckon. Sheezel could be there.I wonder how high 10 + F1 gets us.
I would love a chance at Sheezel.
