Kelly is good defensively, as long as the ball isn't in his hands. Yes, he was at 90% De or thereabouts, but he was back to his sideways, short, slow ball movement that rarely went to our advantage and played into the hands of Freo.

Kelly is the same player he has always been. He just looks better because instead of Talia and Hartigan around him, we've now got Jordon Butts as our #1 KPD and fewer pure defensive stoppers as a result

Out: Frampton, McAdam (same outs I suggested last week)
In: Hately, Pedlar

Fogarty's stints on-ball can be as a relief ruckman for the 1-2 centre bounces per quarter Frampton would have covered. Walker can do the ruckwork in the forward 50. Hawks had McEvoy and Hartigan through the ruck last week who they should be able to compete with.

Pedlar... I accept I might just need to be a little more patient on this one and that his level of conditioning may not be there yet, but I'm very keen to see what he can do once surrounded by AFL standard team mates.

Strong as an ox... because he's the size of an ox - and that's his biggest problem. He's never going to make it as a midfielder at the size he is. He's just too slow and immobile, and doesn't have the fitness to play more than 1 quarter in the guts (before he blows up and is useless for the rest of the game).

Yes, he's got talent - but he's never going to make the most of it until he sheds 5+ kg of excess muscle. That would free his body up immensely, giving him the opportunity to shine.
Did you not read what I wrote?..

If they push fog to his limit, have him play and train with the midfield group for a year and he might even do something about that 5+ kilos you wamt gone and build a better tank..

Nicks hinted at Berg being very close to afl selection on his MMM interview yesterday, was asked a direct question about it. RT will no doubt get a shot at some point this season based on what Nicks said, but timing of it is impossible to predict from what I’ve heard Nicks say. Also hard to get a read on his thoughts with Frampton, but definitely isn’t as positive about Frampton as he was earlier in the season. Said that they’re working on McAdam’s positioning at times within games.

Our Biggest weakness this year is the ease the Ball get from storage to opposition forward line when we lose the stoppage,
That would accelerate if we don't have a decent backup ruck in the side,
Crows need players at the stoppages who win the Ball, get a few of them then we can afford to carry a couple of Kids until they find a way.
Or are we expecting to just wait until Sloane and Crouch return in 3 to 4 weeks? just in time for the toughest part of our draw.
One of Murthy, Berry, Fogarty, need to be swapped, yea they playing OK football, but they are not getting the hands on the ball. and they need to replace by someone who can find the ball. today while the crows are in the easy part of the draw.
Schoenburg remains because he the best performer of the guys who cannot get 20plus disposal as midfielders.
But to continue playing Kids who are struggling to find the ball is slowing down their development.

This year? Been that way for overvhalf a decade.

Nicks has repeatedly said he's hopeful Frampton can start converting his chances: eg. dropped marks into clunks, misses into goals.

It hasn't happened. Surely his patience is running out

He has, but was asked a direct question this time about Frampton and seemed less positive with his messaging than even last week. His comments about Berg made me think the change is looking very likely soon, if not this week.

I agree. I think he's wanted to give Frampton a chance and he hasn't done what he's wanted. He'll be gone shortly

They call it accumulation, and that's one of his strengths.

Why has it diminished since he was a kid playing league in Tassie? Seems he's forGodden how to get the ball since he's been here.
And yet Schoenberg, Scholl, Berry and Pedlar have remembered.

Even Murphy has improved his midfield usefulness this year

Jones has gone backwards.

Aint Goddens fault, and I don't rate Godden at all as a coach.

Berry and Pedlar haven't had him as a midfield coach, Berry at all. Schoey hasn't had him as coach all year, same with Murphy, who's improvement you just noted. Jones is the only mid that's been coached by him as a midfield coach and still being coached by him on game day. None of those examples are particularly relevant examples to Jones.

How many of those were coached by Godden?

In other words PLAY IN FRONT. Stop trying to take mark of the year each game and just make front position. I'm glad the coaches have noticed this and are addressing this with him. I'll be watching him closely during the game.

Correct... its about having the right balance of players... & not having too many defensive types who are poor offensively.

Surely we won't be playing all of Frampton, Lynch Walker & McAdam in our forward line this week.

Frampton has had enough chances & we cannot take 3 players in who are carrying an injury.

New to supporting the AFC?
Yeah, I just started following them this week....

I will keep giving my view of what should happen imo regardless of the club's view... otherwise why bother even posting on this forum!
